“MASSIVE food portions”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

We went here on a Friday night so we were trated to some live music, which was great, but it did get noisy later on. The food was good, but the portions are HUGE! Good beer and good value, too, from memory.

“Huge portions of good food”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

When we arrived on a rainy Saturday early evening, all the seats inside had been taken so we went out the back into the tented area. It was absolutely freezing so we waited for a table to become free in the main bar area.

We both ordered from the 'light bites' options I had the Stir Fried Teriyaki Chicken & Mushroom and my husband had the New Zealand Lamb Salad but the portion sizes were huge. The food was really nice but we struggled to finish. We decided to take a walk down to the lake and come back for desserts later. The desserts were also great.

The service was pretty good.

My tip would be go if you're really hungry and try to get a seat in the bar if it's not the middle of summer. The beer garden is really drafty.

We have fully upgraded the beer garden since this review. New fencing to block out the drafts and added a large open fire to provide a warm and cozy atmosphere. We respond to customer feedback. :)

“Noisy but could be the time of the year ie December”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

Food was okay nothing to write home about, ambience inside was nice. Beer garden of sorts was lacking atmosphere but these were the only seats available as it was a cold wet night. I will give it a go again but not this trip. Service was fair and the meals were edible but lacked oomph.
