“Fabulous evening”
Reviewed October 16, 2013 via mobile

I find it amusing that even when directed to be quiet and switch off camera flashes, there is always someone who thinks this is not inclusive of them........the tour was fantastic, the show was energetic and the master of ceremonies very knowledgeable of world cultures and greetings.
It is a Maori show........fantastic

“Unique and interesting experience!”
Reviewed October 15, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I had a dinner and cultural experience here at the mitai Maori village in April of 2013. The staff, fellow guests, food, cultural education, & overall experience was top notch! This place is a must see when visiting Rotorua! Learning about the native Maori people was one of my favorite and most memorable parts of my trip all over New Zealand! ! Strongly recommend!

“It was loud and a little scary”

We would have liked more explanation of the singing as it was all in Moari. The food was done very well and there was a large number of items to choose from.

“Fantastic night”
Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

We took our 2 grandchildren aged 10 to this attraction last week. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Very polished & good value. Great experience for the children to learn about the culture. The meal was fabulous & the entertainment top class. Made us feel proud to be New Zealanders. Would recommend . Well done Mitai.

“GR8 Maori Experience”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

Our Mitai Maori Village night started off by being picked up by the Mitai courtesy bus from our great hotel (Arista of Rotorua - have a look at this hotel for a great place to stay in Rotorua). The driver of the bus was a great laugh and set the standard for a fun night. On arrival we were shown to the table and had a few drinks (which is why the bus was a good idea) while listening to an elder Maori singing.

The host of the night was an absolute crack up (laugh) and could speak little bits of 18 different languages (on our night 18 different nations were represented). Without giving away the whole night, a Maori show was put on, walk through the bush to watch an authentic Maori style canoe arrive, and although I had reservations about the food it was fantastic (huge amounts on offer).

Our bus driver home sang to us and it really did just end the night on an absolute high. We two adults and two teenage sons from Oz loved it.

If I could throw one minor negative in (constructive feedback), is that I wished the Hangi was in a proper earth pit - not a concrete Hangi = but perhaps that is to meet food standards. Seriously though fab food.
