Lake rotoiti is a beautiful lake, the lake is great for trout fishing. This lake is also great for swimming although water can become green in warmer months. The water is refreshingly cold! Like most other reviewers have been suggesting, the hot pools only accessible by boat are just amazing. These pools are set on the side of the lake with great views, its very quiet and very idyllic! The pools cost 10$ per person ( totally worth it). Water comes from natural spring heated by geothermal activity and there are different pools with different temperatures. Make sure you take a plunge into the water off the slide at the end of one of the wharf too! I did this in september, needless to say it was overly refreshing diving into 11degree water but we were sure running back towards the hot pools after it! YOLO!

Nice lake to take a cruise around if you have a friend with a boat! On the way, stop by Okere Falls Store to pickup some sandwiches. While out on the lake make sure to bring your swim gear and stop at the hot pools only accessible by boat

Lake Rotoiti is a pristine lake and a great holiday getaway just a short drive from Rotorua. We sail our Pure Cruise catamaran on the lake and enjoy all the hidden gems the lake has to offer such as hot water beach and the Rotoiti Hot Pools (only accessible by boat). But mainly we just love to relax and have fun on the water.

We were taken by a friend who knew the lake to some hot pools at the bottom of a cliff. Only the locals and boat owners know about them - boy, did we have an awesome time there! There is also a hot water beach you can dig a hole in and sit in geothermal heated water in another area - you need someone who knows the lake to show you.

If you can manage to get over to the hotpools on the other side of the lake DO SO.. they are like stepping back into the 50s but the water is clean the views in the evening are idyllic. The Okere Falls Store is also a great place to top up supplies of goodies and enjoy good coffee.
