The decor and location of this venue gives it an old fashioned feel...the food on offer does offer many classics but combined with a modern approach and fresh produce. It was a fairly quiet winter's night and the old, rustic surroundings felt very dated and even a little musty at first; however, after a short time, a cheerful table of 8 arrived nearby and the staff lit more candles so the place quickly gained more ambience. The lights of Rotorua below was also a beautiful sight to enjoy. There was plenty of choice on the menu and both my husband and I really enjoyed all the food. I chose the baked apple dessert which was a simple classic but cooked to perfection and it's always good to have that fruit option for people who prefer to avoid the rich, heavy desserts. The staff were friendly and attentive. Many thanks Aorangi Peak!

Our visit was a mixed experience. The views over Rotorua and the lake were beautiful, rewarding us for the drive up the side of the mountain. Unfortunately, we arrived just moments after a bus with hungry tourists from the Far-East, all of which were to be served lunch at once. We never saw a waiter offering us any service, so after a while we left without tasting anything the restaurant offers. The interior's ambiance is quite classy.

Our Son had his wedding here and the food was excellent - buffet style but well presented and top class! The outlook from this Resturant is a must for all travellers to see.

We had a meal here as a treat from uor daughter and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The view out over Rotorua is fantastic. The food was superb and we can safely say it was the best meal by far we had in New Zealand (food wise and value for money) - we visited for the month of Jan this year.
