I think the best hotpools in this part of the north island. Reasonably priced. Nice natural bush setting and lots of character. Recommended.

Lovely hot pools in natural outdoor setting. Variety of pools of different temperatures - so something to suit everyone.

Helpful staff & reasonably priced. About 20 minutes from Rotorua township, do not take the first signposted turn to Waikite Valley - but stay on SH5 and take the second turn - much more direct route.

Well worth a visit.

fabulous experience and just what I needed after a wet and rainy day travelling. I hadn't realised the pools and campsite were combined so to have free use of the pools whilst camping was wonderful, especially the early morning opening. It was lovely to have different temperature pools too and a cafe to get something to eat whilst looking out over the steaming pools. very relaxing and lovely and clean

Waikite Valley was just a name on a map to us, but it was a cold day and we were attracted to the hot pools advert. It was well worth it. This place is a hidden gem - a group of hot mineral pools in a lovely natural environment where travellers can relax and enjoy the flowing fresh volcanic water taken straight from a stunningly beautiful geyser of boiling water. The whole place is laid out well with about five pools of varying levels of heat from blood temperature to lobster. Facilities are good and there is a restaurant, although we did not try it. After the dip we went for the short walk up the stream of boiling water from which the pools are filled constantly with fresh water. Its a lovely native walk topped by the dramatic and slightly scary sight of thousands of gallons of boiling water gushing from rocks into a deep blue pool, surrounded by a cloud of steam. The explanation says an underground river hits heated volcanic rocks somewhere underground and its forced to the surface in this dramatic bubbling cauldron. All in al a great place to visit. If there was a surprise it was the entry fee. At $15 per head its probably one of the cheapest attractions in the Rotorua area.

I am a local and would consider myself a hot pool expert as I work at another hot pools in town and we own a hot pool at Ohinemutu. This place is AWESOME! Great value for money! The most friendliest and accommodating staff! I really enjoyed the Private Pools, very nice and 40 minutes is plenty of time especially when you can then hop in to the other public pools. Stunning pace.

My only criticisms and the reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was the drive out there. We got lost which isn't their fault but as a local I thought it would have been easier to find. We mistakenly took the turn off on to Waikite Valley Road, came to a fork road and took the wrong turn, perhaps some signage would have helped? And the changing rooms are a little bit old and a bit concrete block like but I paid $18 so it was expected.

Will definitely visit again :)
