“Impressed”

We travelled here in our camper van and hooked up on their small site which gave us free entry to the thermal pools. The campsite was basic but the pools more than made up for it. The warm pools were quite something; holidaying during New Zealands winter possibly made them even more of a treat. There were 4 main pools of varying temperatures, 2 hot tubs and private spas available. The pools seemed to be used by local people as well as holidaymakers which we rather liked, feeling we were getting good value for money. We had our evening meal in the cafe on site and were really impressed with the quality and presentation of the food as we had found all over NZ. Would definately recommend a visit.

“Looked lovely but...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

The setting of these thermal pools is really lovely, but there was a vibe of it being only for local people when we walked in to check it out, which we found a little off-putting. The pools looked nice but nothing special during the day. Maybe they look lovelier at night.

“Relaxing and fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

This was a great thermal pool experience. There were lots of different pools for you to enjoy and they were all a different temperature. There were nice quiet pools for the adults to enjoy and bigger pools for the kids to have fun in. We spent all afternoon there and could have stayed longer! It is a short drive out of rotorua but I think that makes it a little quieter than some of the ones in town. It was all very clean and the staff friendly and happy.

“Bliss...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

We stopped here after visiting Wai-O-Tapu, which is only 10 minutes away via a stunning drive into the Waikite Valley. Soaking in the hot mineral pools is a great way to relieve travel weary bones and is blissful on a cold winter day. I could have stayed for hours. Our youngest child found it almost too hot despite the cold weather so be wary of young children overheating - keep an eye on them and drink plenty of water. Some of the pools are cooler though. The cafe food is pretty stodgy and the portions are huge.

“Refreshing Break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

We stopped here whilst touring the North Island. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, the complex clean and natural. Refreshingly simple and a nice change from the over commercial tourist attraction. We had a beautiful afternoon here, enjoyed the walk and learnt about the flora and fauna. Reasonably priced and well worthwhile.
