Very lovely, perfectly located hotel with contemporary furnishings and catchy color schemes. We're in room 13 adjacent to the outdoor pool (which has a water fall wall feature). Unique that in room wi fi is included AND works! Ultra chic large bathtub with futuristic shower gigantic stall. The large sitting room includes microwave, refrig, desk, two armed chairs, a regular sized couch and two tables plus a tv (also a tv in the bedroom). Breakfast features fresh fruit, toast, choice of juices and Eggs Benedict! Eggs cooked to order and pancakes available. One of our group requested "crispy burned bacon" which was cheerfully and promptly supplied. The inside mineral tub was cleaned and refilled this morning. I suspect that's daily protocol for this five star establishment. Host and staff are exceedingly gracious plus helpful in every way. Regret we had only two nights here but the trip must stay on schedule!

Our stay at the Regent remains a highlight of our recent trip to New Zealand. We arrived on a Sunday evening and took advantage of their thermal pool and heated swimming pool, as well as the restaurant. The decor is charmingly retro in black and white with touches of kiwi green. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and the bathroom was great. The staff at the desk were among the most friendly people we met in a friendly country. They gave us great advice and helped us plan our stay and book a Maori cultural dinner, great fun. Highly recommend the Regent.

I spent three weeks traveling in NZ and Australia and this was the best hotel I've stayed in. Darren was so friendly and caring. The hotel is very upscale and the restaurant had wonderful food. Definitely stay here if you are ever in Rotorua.

That's my first review ever though we've travelled quite many times, as I feel obliged to give this hotel five stars. We stayed here for two nights, and the stay is one of the highlights of our awesome NZ trip.

To sum it up:

Location: Perfect. Within a 15-min walking distance to the Polynesian Spa, the Lake or even the big supermarket Countdown. The "Eat Street" is just around the corner, and the "best restaurant" Leonardo's Pure Italian is just situated exactly opposite to the hotel;

Service/ Food: Also perfect. Hosts are friendly, attentive and fun. What amazed me the most is that they could serve breakfast til 3pm. We could sleep til late but still enjoy a blissful treat;

Room: Just fits our style. We always prefer modern, trendy and hip boutique hotels. Room is spacious with a cute living room and a wonderful bathroom.

And last but not least, just want to say thank you to the hosts here :)

We stayed one night and it was not enough. This place is right in the middle of town and close to restaurants and bars and has plenty of on site free parking.The owners have furnished this place very tastefully and clearly they have an eye for design. Our room, although quite small, was ultra modern, decorated in black & white with a dash of bright green including a little green teddy on the pillow and was spotless. Tea & coffee facilities were provided and the towels and toiletries in the modern bathroom were top quality. There is a heated pool in the courtyard and a private spa tub for guests use. Free wifi is included and works effectively in the room
We were welcomed by one of the owners who took the time to recommend places to see whilst we were in Rotorua. . We came away with the feeling that everyone cared.
