This hotel is in a refurbished motel and whilst you can still tell what it's former guise was (rooms open on to outdoor walkways etc) the decor and service is very much a cut above motel standard!!
This really is a boutique hotel with bags of character and charm. Very good service, welcoming and shown to room. Beautiful refurbishment, which must only have been recently completed as it was spotless. Heated pool and spa bath, which unfortunately we didn't have time to use, but looked inviting. Great location, right in the middle of town near restaurants and the lake. In short, if you sometimes like staying somewhere that isn't one of the big hotel chains, but like a bit of comfort and service, this place might just be for you. We'd certainly be back.

You can not get closer to "eat street" than Regent and the price was by far the best we found for the quality. However, "eat street" was disappointing & we were warned by locals it was not safe to venture off the main street.
The unique rooms were great but disappointing that there was no spa in room. The only spa in the hotel was small, in a tiny room, not all that clean & generally a huge let down. But at the end of the day you should stay here for value and convenience not the spas. If this is what you are after, you are on a winner with Regent.

Location is great, "Eat Street" is on the corner of the same block - although the Hotel restaurant is very good. Off road parking is provided. Staff are professional. Room (we had a Studio) was good, bed was comfortable, standard hotel in-room facilities.

Loved this place after so many stays at boring sixties style monoliths in Rotorua this made over motel is a delight. The young helpers were french - they had come to learn the ropes from the innovative owners who are real foodies. Locals came to the restaurant to graze and we were walking distance from the lake. Rooms are large (we had 2 room and a living room). It was the middle of winter and we were warm as toast. Deco is tasteful with a modish chic! The hot spa was difficult to cool the night we arrived - the water bubbles up at 50°c and you have to balance it with cold water so had to wait till next day was still more appealing than the public pools though. The owners are doing a great job

Awesome spot, location is perfect, close to the dining strip. Rooms are modern and fresh. We stayed in the older wing but liked that they preserved the old and mashed it with the new to make a trendy spot. Nele your friendly welcome kicked us off to a great experience.

Great location! Not in the middle of all the buzzing but adjacent enough that you can stumble back to the hotel after hanging out with some locals at the pubs or restaurants in the area.
Also, because it's a couple of blocks away from the lake, the area doesn't smell bad at all.
No laundry faculities in the apartments, which was rare for NZ, but laundry is available thru the hotel at regular hotel prices.

Whether it business or pleasure this well appointed Hotel I highly recommend. Central location in the hub of cafes, lakefront and shopping precinct, very attractively furnished and oozing professional and personalized "service". This property absolutely deserves to be called a Boutique Hotel and is a pleasure each visit. Thank you Sharene of Auckland
