Found this Hotel on Trip advisor. Thanks the Lord for T.A
Looks a bit kitsch and straight out of a US Cop movie Motel scene, but once you get past that... the guys on reception are too happy and freindly for words, the place is lovely and clean and the room was first class. The facilities are great and the breakfast was superb.
The best place we stayed in New Zealand overall, desptite the god awful eggy smell which Rotorua assaults your nasal passages with morning noon and night whilst you are there.
(Not the Regents fault of course) Would highly reccomend !

Room Tip: Suite was cheaper than two singles and had bags of room plus kitchenette

Darryn and Brent are excellent hosts; their lovely hotel sets a standard for comfort and style. The pool is a treat, the restaurant first class. This is THE place to stay in Rotorua. Would have been 5 stars, but for uneven performance of staff preparing rooms - a defective light took two days to repair, glasses and toiletries easily found on counter top one day, hidden in a drawer the next. Small points, but ... ! We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: Speak nicely to Darryn and Brent; they gave us a choice.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights during the Rugby World cup and had a fantastic experience with this hotel. The staff especially Darryn at the front desk were brilliant. They could not do enough enough for us. We stayed in the 1 bed studio room and it was perfect, modern and spacious - everything we needed to end our stay in New Zealand. However, what made this hotel was it's staff - they were everything you expect and more, wonderful hospitality, always made you feel welcome which made our stay even more relaxing and comfortable.

We stayed here for two nights. We had arrived a little earlier than check in time and went in to see if we could drop our bags, however the manager was more than accomodating as our room wasnt ready, he switched the rooms around so that we could be checked in earlier.

The room was modern and had all the creature comforts, and the monsoon shower is fantastic! We wanted to take it home.

We were informed of cocktail hour which is a must, and had dinner in the restaurant, which we got all to ourselves. one of the best meals we had ever had. It is in the perfect location with other restaurants just around the corner, everything was within walking distance. Highly reccomend.

Have just returned from having 2 nights in the 2bed apt, executive suite.
We highly recommend - this is a boutique hotel NOT a Motel, all the mod cons available for the seasoned traveller.
The bonus is the lovely mineral pool, why would you want to use the Polynesian Pools with everyone else.
The location is outstanding, so handy to everything in Rotorua, makes walking around the city centre easy.
If you do not wish to eat in the fabulous restaurant EAT STREAT is one minute around the corner with so much to choose from.
The staff are well trained, very professional, friendly & extremely customer focused.
Make this your next stop - You won't be disappointed!!

Room Tip: All rooms are airconditioned & capture the all day sunshine.

Based on fantastic online reviews we stayed at the Regent of Rotorua and we were not disappointed! Everything at this hotel has been done with taste and style, coupled with great staff makes this a fantastic place to stay in an amazing destination.
I am in a wheelchair and the disabled access room is amazing - beautifully fitted out and with a roll-in shower, grab bars and the most comfortable shower seat! I could not recommend this hotel more highly.
We ate both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and both were exceptional.
