“Have a cocktail!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2011

We stayed here for two nights. We had arrived a little earlier than check in time and went in to see if we could drop our bags, however the manager was more than accomodating as our room wasnt ready, he switched the rooms around so that we could be checked in earlier.

The room was modern and had all the creature comforts, and the monsoon shower is fantastic! We wanted to take it home.

We were informed of cocktail hour which is a must, and had dinner in the restaurant, which we got all to ourselves. one of the best meals we had ever had. It is in the perfect location with other restaurants just around the corner, everything was within walking distance. Highly reccomend.

Have just returned from having 2 nights in the 2bed apt, executive suite.
We highly recommend - this is a boutique hotel NOT a Motel, all the mod cons available for the seasoned traveller.
The bonus is the lovely mineral pool, why would you want to use the Polynesian Pools with everyone else.
The location is outstanding, so handy to everything in Rotorua, makes walking around the city centre easy.
If you do not wish to eat in the fabulous restaurant EAT STREAT is one minute around the corner with so much to choose from.
The staff are well trained, very professional, friendly & extremely customer focused.
Make this your next stop - You won't be disappointed!!

Room Tip: All rooms are airconditioned & capture the all day sunshine.

Based on fantastic online reviews we stayed at the Regent of Rotorua and we were not disappointed! Everything at this hotel has been done with taste and style, coupled with great staff makes this a fantastic place to stay in an amazing destination.
I am in a wheelchair and the disabled access room is amazing - beautifully fitted out and with a roll-in shower, grab bars and the most comfortable shower seat! I could not recommend this hotel more highly.
We ate both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and both were exceptional.

I travel to Rotorua alot for pleasure but this time my friend booked and I was very pleasantly surprised.

The style is fantastic, the staff bend over backwards to offer you service and the location was spot on.

I'll be returning and bringing my husband next time!

We stayed here as part of our South to North NZ road trip and was possibly the best of the 13 hotels we stayed in during this time. The hosts had recently renovated the whole building and what a fantastic job they did. The whole place oozes chicness - it reminds me of The Viceroy in Palm Springs. Such a stylish place - the pool area looks stunning. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome and an upgrade to a room in the new building, which was directly above the restaurant/bar area and overlooked the pool area. Room and bathroom was great. Large, comfy, plenty of amenities. All the linen felt high quality and plush.

We ate breakfast a couple of times in the hotel and also had drinks at the bar every night in support of our hosts. The quality of the breakfast and the service is great. It's such a shame the restaurant and bar aren't busier in the evening - it's probably the most stylish thing that Rotorua has ever seen! Maybe things have changed since we were there earlier in the year. Great wine selection too of course, this is NZ after all!

Location wise it's good too. Walk into town for food and drinks or shopping or a short drive if you are visiting any of the surrounding attractions like the Thermal Village. The guys at reception can help you sort anything out. Must recommend Sabrosa Restaurant for dinner - great latin american restaurant.

Big thumbs up to this place. Very deserving of the #1 ranking - these guys work hard and it shows.

We stayed at the Regent of Rotorua in November of 2010. The location was wonderful, very near the lake and within walking distance of everything. We stayed in the renovated wing, which was decorated in an ultra-modern theme; very simple and elegant. I wish I could have kept the bed, it was so comfortable. The hosts were a pair of really nice guys, Brent and Darren. They could not have been more gracious, and they made fabulous breakfasts! They gave us recommendations on things to do, best ways to get around and were generally perfect, I guess.
I loved Rotorua with its black swans and horrid people-eating mosquitos that come out at sunset near the water. It's a beautiful little gem of a town and I would love to go there again. If I'm ever fortunate to do so, I will definitely stay at the Regent.

Room Tip: We booked direct and got a great room
