“Very relaxing - will stay again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2008

My wife and I wanted to get away during the winter for a relaxing couple of days, without being couped up in a tacky motel or cramped hotel. Accolades was the perfect choice. We felt like we had the place to ourselves with the two huge lounges ample to create a sense of privavcy while not having to retreat to your room. Big comfy counches and warming fireplace was great for a winter break.

The rooms are very large and quite opulent and the bathroom was more than adequate.

Our host was very personable, always attending to our needs and cooked a craking breakfast in the morning. Canapies and wine at night was also a welcome treat.

Will definitely return.

Accolades is in reality a rather exclusive B and B in a nice modern estate 10 miles outside Rotorua on a hill with a lake view with nice rooms.

We stayed at Accolades for a long weekend and were extremely impressed by the property and the level of service. The hosts, Kay and Kath, were fantastic and had so many helpful recommendations about things to do and see in Rotorua.

Accolades is a beautiful property with modern decor and has yummy breakfasts each morning.

We were sad to have to leave and would definitely recommend to others visiting this city!

Our mystery weekend ended up in Rotorua at the Accolades Boutique Hotel. What a beautiful place to stay, i fell in love with the hotel/luxury home. This hotel is more of a friendly home than a hotel. We were made to feel at home and to treat it like our home. Our hosts Kath and Kaye made our weekend break so relaxing and very enjoyable. We had the best suite in the house overlooking the lake and oh so quiet. The girls cooked an excellent breakfast every morning for us that we enjoed with the other quests in the hotel at the time. We will be back again some day soon, thank you girls you made our long weekend so much fun.

Michael and Rae were charming hosts - helped of course by their two dogs ;-)

The accommodation was sumptuous and the room had fantastic views

The spa treatment room was been recently added and the massage I had was one of the best I have experienced

We had a wonderful honeymoon stay here. The view of the lake was incredible, breakfast was delicious, and the room was private and comfortable. Our hosts, Michael, Rae and Kath went above and beyond to help us explore the area. We would definitely recommend this boutique hotel to others.

Our hosts and our room in this luxury accomodation could not have been better. Warm, friendly and inviting, our hosts did everything possible to make our stay memorable. Most enjoyable was visiting with the other guests of the hotel and sharing our travel stories. I would certainly stay here again if in the area, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a luxury B&B experience, but not a hotel experience.
Our only complaint is that this property is not quite as represented on their website. It is a house in a residential neighborhood, sixty feet from the street, not extensive grounds as stated on the website. It's a B&B, not a hotel; although a lovely B&B! There are no lounge chairs outside on the property, as shown in their picture, and I would not have wanted to lie in a bathing suit on the street anyway. The dining page on the website leads you to believe they serve dinner, but after a long day traveling and expecting dinner reservations right there at the "hotel" that we had requested, we were told they had made us reservations in a restaurant back in town. Not what we expected at all. So if you want a B&B experience, by all means I would recommend it, but if you're looking for a hotel -- this is not what you are getting. We arrived and left feeling a little duped, and all for $450.00 a night. If I had been told what I was getting into, I would have loved it, but nobody wants to feel fooled!

  • Liked — friendly hosts, sharing experiences with other guests
  • Disliked — having to drive in to town for dinner, no restaurant
