My daughter and I walked around the Blue Lake. Great walking tracks and beautiful scenery through native bush. Very popular, you always meet people on the way

What a pretty place with so much to see and do. It's a short drive from Rotorua on the way to Lake Tarawera. At the right time of the year you can swim, ride, walk, kayak etc etc all in close proximity.
It's a very scenic place for a picnic as well. It would be easy to spend a full day or more in this area.

18- 20 km away from the Rotorua. Its not a very big lake but a very peaceful one. There were hardly 5 people near the lake. It has good sitting area where you can sit and enjoy the lake. They have BBQ facility too near the lake. There is a walking trail too. In all must visit if in Rotorua and if you are seeking peace.

Good clean lake not far from town. Unfortunately it can become very over crowded in summer months. And some people do not control their dogs and younger children and I find this can spoil the lake and swimming at this time of year. If you have a boat it is much better to go to other side as we have in the past. Lovely clear water over their, but can be limited shoreline depending on lake height.

Well worth the drive to the Blue and Green Lake with an excellent lookout which gives you a view over Lakes. Good car parking facilites and walking trails. Mother nature at her best with no Sulphur smells
