“Wonderful stay, wonderful hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2009

Immaculate rooms, great view yards away of the lake, huge breakfast and delightful hosts. Super knowledgeable about the area, more than happy to make bookings for travelers and our host spent lots of time with my husband & son angling for fish right out front where the black swans float by. Warm & friendly people and no sulfur smell. Close by to everything. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for our first 3 nights in NZ in early December, our first of 7 B&B's and possibly our best. The location is great, about 10 minutes drive from Rotorua, so you don't get the sulphur smell, but close enough for all of the attractions - (a lot of the excursions do a pick up so you don't need to worry about driving). We stayed in the king room which has the balcony and the view of the lake - well worth the extra money. The guest space - the lounge and conservatory with the magnificent views of the lake - are brilliant and great for a late night bottle of wine!

The real difference at this B&B is the hosts, Lyndsey and Graham, who couldn't do enough for us. From helping us with our luggage when we arrived to Lyndsey's breakfasts wich were great and really set us up for the day. They gave us great advice and tips on things/trips to do in the area and even booked things up for us - the white water rafting is a must for those brave enough! When we left after our 3 days we felt like we were leaving family and we would definitely stay here again should we ever go back to NZ. Thank you Lyndsey and Graham for a great stay.

Graham and Lyndsay run a most lovely 3 room B & B right on the lake in Rotorua. Their home is set up in 2 levels - they live on the bottom floor and the guest portion is on the upper floor - complete with a very large guest living room / dining room, and a glass porch which has a wonderful view of the lake.

Both Graham and Lyndsay were delightful hosts, and were eager to ensure we maximized our short time in Rotorua. They are a very warm couple and one evening we shared a bottle of wine with them on the porch, and it was a very enjoyable part of our stay.

Do note their home is about a 10 minute drive from "the town" of Rotorua, so you will have to drive to the shops/restaurants/spas. However it is so worth it to be able to stay completely LAKESIDE in a charming B & B.

We had an outstanding stay with the inkeepers. They made large breakfasts and took me fishing while my wife slept in. Beautiful area, convenient for touring much of the north island. was our homebase for 2 nights. Innkeepers gave good advice of sights to see that we hadn't considered. Clean comfortable rooms at an affordable price. Would stay again with out hesitation.

Graham and Lyndsay are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble and will do everything they can to help you enjoy your stay. It was quite a surprise to find out that Graham originally came from our own home town. We spent quite some time talking about old times, it felt like we were visiting family not staying in a B& B. Graham enjoys fishing for trout at the bottom of their garden just as much Lyndsay enjoys cooking it.When it came time to say goodbye it was quite hard it felt like leaving a part of home behind. This is a great B&B beautiful views of the lake. Well worth staying here but you will need more than one or two nights here.

Recently returned from a touring holiday in New Zealand during this time we sampled many different and varied B @ B's, Hotels,
and Apartments but nothing matched up to our stay with Lyndsay and Graham. The views from the lounge windows were stunning this was matched with the most wonderful hospitality and the best breakfast that we had on the whole of our tour, the homemade museli was fantastic.Would love to go back to New Zealand only hope the Butchers are still in Rotorua if we decide to make another trip. Sue Napper and the Pallisters.
