“Yum!”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Very tasty authentic NZ food. We had Mini Burgers as appetizer, and Fush and Chups (Fish N Chips), Braised Pork with mixed vegetables and aged rib eye steak as entree. The food was very delicious and service was perfect. The restaurant was spacious and comfortable, also conveniently located in Rotorua town centre. Recommend to have the Rib eye steak - it's very good.

“What a find!”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Amazing ambience and excellent service by staff. We had Newzealand lamb Rump and the Market fish and it was superb. We have travelled to a lot of places in the World and this has been one of the best. If you are in Rotorua this is a must.

“Great restaurant. Excellent food and service”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

The location isn't on the restaurant row, but after eating on that street the first night we decided to try this place. We were pleasantly surprised. the food is excellent. I had the pulled pork and it was delicious. I read the review mentioning James. and we also had him as a waiter. he was brilliant, friendly and made the experience even better with our young daughter. The place caters very well for families and while it's not necessarily a 'family' restaurant as sometimes this pigeon holes places. I wouldn't hesitate to come back as the value is good and it's easy to park. My only gripe is that you either look out on the street or the parking lot of the next door burger joint

“Deep fried duck?”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

We popped into Kurious Kiwi after seeing the rave reviews here. The decor was nice and an improvement from the old Breakers.

The service was a bit slow and there was a long wait for entrees and then mains. My colleagues ordered market fish and the chicken, which they loved. I ordered the duck breast, which I was quite disappointed in. It was served unusually crumbed and deep fried, and the duck breast itself was so large that it covered up the entire plate. Regardless, I decided to give it a try, and it was not appetizing, the duck breast was of poor quality, and after a few bites I left it, and had to resort to the duck fat potatoes to fill me up.

On the plus side, the service was good and we were always greeted with a smile.
