Spending 8 weeks touring New Zealand we decided on this motel but although the Hosts were friendly and helpful you really get what you pay for. Yes, it was reasonable, but the kitchen was so old, painted a burgundy to hide the old units and we had ants. As we only stopped 1 night we coped but honestly I could not recommend it for these reasons. It was a Backpackers price and they would find it acceptable. The pool was a lovely ad on as the weather was so hot. The bed was clean and therefore one could say that you spend very little time in the unit. However our unit smelt musty and was very dark, perhaps other rooms were better.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with lots of light

This motel is economy priced and little outdated however they are in the process of doing it up so the value for money is excellent.
The thermal swimming pool is 34 degrees and is a delight to just soak in.
The hosts were so helpful and nothing was a problem. They can even book all your tours and adventures from the front desk.
They also have rooms priced a little higher with dressing gowns and slippers as well as a room where you can watch TV in your own private spa.
They have something for everyone so well worth the enquiry.

Room Tip: First class or business class rooms so you get the dressing gown and slippers.

This was a well positioned motel, off the main road and with parking and a pool.
The room was clean and tidy, but in need of modernisation.
All cutlery, crockery etc was in the kit chen which was great for getting breakfast in the mornings.
The room could do with modernisation but was comfortable enough for 2 nights.

This motel has had a full makeover with most of the rooms refurbished. Our room was the business class room and I believe they offer First, Business and Economy. We had fee wifi, tea coffee etc as well as 2 cozy dressing gowns. Dawn and Alan we're ideal hosts very friendly and helped us plan our itinery. The pool is a little to hot for me thoughar 38 degrees but probably ok in the winter

It was a good price that we got our room, but also we aren't jumping out of our skin to go back there any time soon. We had the room with the oldest furnishings the hotel, and the fridge made a weird gurgling noise during the night - I ended up unplugging it. The staff were nice enough.

My wife and myself stayed for 2 nights over Queen's Birthday weekend. We couldn't have been looked after better. On our arrival Dawn went out of her way to ensure our stay was going to be a pleasant experience, we were not disappointed. Excellent dining places were pointed out to us along with some 'must do' activities. On our departure my wife and I were very satisfied and we will be staying at this establishnent again when we return to Rotorua. Les and Bobby Ingley.

We are from Hong Kong, and were stayed Rotorua for one night. Acapulco have a very clean and tidy room, and it have a kitchen with all equipment supplied. Its balcony such a nice place for sunset with wine.
The supermarket is just 10 mins by walk, very nice location.
The friendly and helpful host gave us many good ideas for sightseeing, highly recommend.
