It was years since I'd walked through the gardens, they are still interesting and well tended. The surrounding area of The Blue Baths and The Rotorua Museum are attractive old buildings which enhance the the area.

Rotorua Government Gardens are so well kept and are just lovely to walk around. The backdrop of the Museum and lots of flowers...so pleasant. Museum well worth a visit too.

The gardens are beautiful and home to the Rotorua Museum with excellent exhibitions and a great coffee place. The Rotunda is also the vocal point for many local activities and in just one month has been the venue for the local annual Country music show, the Art in the Park event, the Sunday free concerts etc. the park also has bowling greens, croquet lawns and pétanque areas. Follow the road around for the rose gardens and children's play areas and go further around to Sulpher Point to see the bird life including a lot of Pukekoes and great views of the lake.
