“Best thermal location I've ever seen!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

We visited multiple thermal spots on our holiday in New Zealand (based in Taupo and Rotorua) and this was definitely our favorite. There are so many amazing things to see and a lot if variety in sights. If you can handle the walk, it is well worth walking the entire track so you don't miss anything. You are able to get incredibly close to the sights and there are a lot of beautiful photo opportunities. The mud pool is worth a look too at the entrance- we stayed here a while and watched as the mud slowly bubbled and occasionally spat out of control! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

“Such a cool spot”

What an amazing place. The mudpools and geysers are incredible. The price is slightly high but we don't regret it, such a unique experience.

Wonderful hike thru a thermal wonderland! A little expensive but fascinating. Sulfur smell is very strong at times. Be very careful with small children.

“A really cool experience!”

This was so worth the minimal charge. BUT you could see the mud pool for free, right before the entrance to the park...which was definitely a highlight! I've never seen a mud pool and it was just fascinating. The rest of the "wonderland" was truly that...definitely recommend!

“Wonderful remote experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

This thermal parkland is absolutely worthwhile doing whist visiting the north island. The erupting geyser is fabulous and it lasts more than 1 hour, it is explained by a comentator and you can take photos and videos all the time. You get to sit in an ampitheatre whilst the show goes on erupting at 10:15 am. Then you walk around the park for 1 and a half hour in a very well organised and sign posted tour. It is fabulous! you feel like in another planet with so many craters, steamy holes, bubbling away, the colours are maganificent ranging from blue, grey, green and even aqua! depending on the soil and chemicals. You get a map with an explanation at every point so its easy to understand and you do it on your own.
The coffee shop and shop are very good.
Everything is spotlessly clean. Very impressed with this attraction and I would definitely put it in your list to do here.
