Owner description: Famous for a reason, Skyline Rotorua is your ticket to an unforgettable holiday. Begin your day with a tranquil Gondola ride up Mt Ngongotaha overlooking Lake Rotorua then wind your way down via the Luge or if you prefer to descend by mountain bike, weave your way through one of the newly created Gravity Park trails. Get the adrenalin pumping even more on the Zoom Zipline and the Sky Swing. Or for a more relaxed approach take a stroll through the stunning nature trails with informative and interactive panels along the way. Left feeling a little peckish? Head to the Food Market Kitchen or the Stratosfare Restaurant & Bar to fuel up again. While you’re there, why not also pop into the Volcanic Hills Wine Tasting Room and Winery while the kids explore the Jelly Belly Gallery and Store. Finish the day with an out-of-this world experience during Skyline’s Stargazing tour. It’ll have you exploring constellations and discovering planets invisible to the naked eye, at one of the top eight stargazing locations in New Zealand. The Skyline Rotorua complex is just 5 minutes’ drive from central Rotorua, sitting atop Mt Ngongotaha providing unsurpassed views of New Zealand’s coolest hot spot. This is an all-weather must do attraction suitable for all ages. Open 365 days a year from 9am to late.

This is a must if you like scenery and the kids will love it. The restaurant is also very good, so I would advise, if you don't want to go onto the luge, book to go into the restaurant, as this is a good way to offset the cost to get up there. For an extra $25 per adult you can get a buffet dinner which is fantastic (It includes a great variety of seafood, meat, pasta, veggies and deserts).

Weather was really nice that day, so it might have helped, but we had a really good day at Skyline Rotorua;) We went up from the Gondola, did the luge once which was not enough. Friendly staff and nice shops at the top. View was not as breathtaking as the Queenstown Skyline, but the gondola condition also the staff were much nicer!

This was a load of fun. The skyline itself is quite short - but I hail from Cairns where there is an excellent gondola ride up to the Atherton Tablelands. The views from the skyline and at the top were amazing - breathtaking. Take your camera. My 9 year old was very apprehensive about the luge! But once was enough to convince him how much fun it was. You then need to get a 'ski lift' back to the top. It gives you anothe opportunity to take in the scenery and beauty that is New Zealand! My daughter and my husband went on the Giant Swing. While this is an additional cost, they had an absolute blast and said it was well worth it - they have more guts than me...........far too scary! :) This is worth a visit. Lots of fun to be had by all ages.

Trying to copy the skyline restaurant in Queenstown, with its many features. The buffet meal was more than adequate with a variety of choice for varying tastes and the drink prices adequate. I would recommend this option rather than just doing on its own as you can get to come back next morning to take photos - it was raining when we went so glad for the opportunity, but it's biggest downfall is its lack of varying viewing platforms and labels to show what you are looking at.

i Had buffer dinner with my wife on our Anniversary and truly it made my day .

The food was amazing and we got table with the city view.

The choice of food is remarkable. we had great time and service was really good.

The best part is that you get a free ride of gondola even on the next day.

Highly recommended and will surely come again.
