Owner description: Famous for a reason, Skyline Rotorua is your ticket to an unforgettable holiday. Begin your day with a tranquil Gondola ride up Mt Ngongotaha overlooking Lake Rotorua then wind your way down via the Luge or if you prefer to descend by mountain bike, weave your way through one of the newly created Gravity Park trails. Get the adrenalin pumping even more on the Zoom Zipline and the Sky Swing. Or for a more relaxed approach take a stroll through the stunning nature trails with informative and interactive panels along the way. Left feeling a little peckish? Head to the Food Market Kitchen or the Stratosfare Restaurant & Bar to fuel up again. While you’re there, why not also pop into the Volcanic Hills Wine Tasting Room and Winery while the kids explore the Jelly Belly Gallery and Store. Finish the day with an out-of-this world experience during Skyline’s Stargazing tour. It’ll have you exploring constellations and discovering planets invisible to the naked eye, at one of the top eight stargazing locations in New Zealand. The Skyline Rotorua complex is just 5 minutes’ drive from central Rotorua, sitting atop Mt Ngongotaha providing unsurpassed views of New Zealand’s coolest hot spot. This is an all-weather must do attraction suitable for all ages. Open 365 days a year from 9am to late.

“Fun for the family”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We are a family of five (children 8, 6 and 5 years old) and were a bit unsure as to how our 5 and 6 year old girls would enjoy this. However, we were pleasantly surprised with how thrilled they were. We bought the family pass with gondola and 8 rides then bought an additional ride. Along with 2 toddler passes, this meant that we could take the girls with us- therefore we each got 3 rides. The 8 year old was more than fine, and it was only on the last ride that the 6 year old was confident to "take the wheel" herself.

“Stunning views and fabulous ride”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

Getting into the cable car starts the journey. Sweeping you out of the depot you rise fairly quickly up the side of Mount Ngongataha. When the car passes the pylon the switching gear adds to the excitement as the car bumps and sways on the cable. As the ground falls away the panoramic view grows. At the top the view of the city and lake is astounding. The ride down is as good as the ride up. Your SuperGold and AA cards can get you a discount.

“Legend Tours”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

Everyday busy life have left me fully drowned and had no energy to plan a time out of Auckland. So I asked a tour operator to arrange a weekend out for me and my friends. Last Saturday was the day when I planned a day tour to Rotorua from Auckland. At 7 in the morning, we all were geared up for fun. We planned a day loaded with activities. Sky Swing, Bungy Jump and Mud Bath were top on the agenda. Sky Swing and Mud Bath was too perfect thing which my tour operator has organized for me. Sky Swing was full of thrilled and excitement whereas Mud Bath was simply soothing and relaxing. After dinner, we checked in a nice hotel for a sound sleep. I found myself fully revived from all the work pressure I was going through. Hats off to "Legend Tours" for organizing a perfect weekend out for all of us. I would highly recommend Legend Tours services to all.

“Kid in heaven”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We took our grandson to Skyline for a treat. He loved the Gondola ride. The 5 luge rides he had got better as he got braver. And there was a Jelly Belly shop there. Kids heaven!

“Better and better”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We have visited Skyline Gondola and Luge several times in the last ten years, but it has just taken it all up a notch by totally refurbishing the cafe area. Food there is now excellent and it's a world away from the somewhat ordinary offering that was there about 2 years ago.
Luging was, as always, brilliant fun!!! Fantastic place to take the family and spend a few hours riding the luge, eating, and enjoying the view from the top.
A family visit to Rotorua is not complete without Skyline!
