Owner description: Famous for a reason, Skyline Rotorua is your ticket to an unforgettable holiday. Begin your day with a tranquil Gondola ride up Mt Ngongotaha overlooking Lake Rotorua then wind your way down via the Luge or if you prefer to descend by mountain bike, weave your way through one of the newly created Gravity Park trails. Get the adrenalin pumping even more on the Zoom Zipline and the Sky Swing. Or for a more relaxed approach take a stroll through the stunning nature trails with informative and interactive panels along the way. Left feeling a little peckish? Head to the Food Market Kitchen or the Stratosfare Restaurant & Bar to fuel up again. While you’re there, why not also pop into the Volcanic Hills Wine Tasting Room and Winery while the kids explore the Jelly Belly Gallery and Store. Finish the day with an out-of-this world experience during Skyline’s Stargazing tour. It’ll have you exploring constellations and discovering planets invisible to the naked eye, at one of the top eight stargazing locations in New Zealand. The Skyline Rotorua complex is just 5 minutes’ drive from central Rotorua, sitting atop Mt Ngongotaha providing unsurpassed views of New Zealand’s coolest hot spot. This is an all-weather must do attraction suitable for all ages. Open 365 days a year from 9am to late.

Ride up the Gondola was great and the views amazing. However the prices are very expensive for 2 people when you not going to do the Luge. The view was amazing. The best thing was the 4D cinema experience at the top. Went in a UFO through outer space. Bad thing, was at the bottom you get offered a photo of you in the Gondola, then told its $30 to buy

Amazing stunning views at the top of Skyline Rotorua. We did the package with 5 luge rides, return gondola ride and sky swing. Luge tracks were awesome with 3 different tracks/levels to choose from. The sky swing was thrilling with swinging views over rotorua. Highly recommend if you love a fun adventure!

Don't attempt to get out of the luge when it is moving it hurts, listen to what the guys at the top say, as our daughter found out the hard way, needed a trip to the meds centre. Other than this slight mishap we had a fantastic afternoon, you must take the 5 ride option to get the best out of the day. In actual fact we are going again next week. Great time had by all.

You should take the gondola to the top to enjoy the stunning views and there are plenty of things to do up there. For the active there is the luge. We chose a wine tasing with Volcanic Hills wines who have just opened. They source grapes from all over NZ. They have previously rented production capacity from several wineries but are about to make their first vintage in Rotorua at a new winery next to the bottom gondola station. We had a great time and the views from their windows were fabulous. We bought 3 bottles and later bought 6 more at a bottle shop in Taupo.
