We absolutely loved this wildlife park, from having the chance to see kiwi birds up close and personal, to the bird show and great exhibits. The park was small, but well maintained and worth a visit. Staff were lovely and friendly, and straight away informed us of the opportunity to come back later that same night to see the park at night too. We took up this opportunity and came back to see the kiwi birds active at night, so glad we came back to see them. We got eaten alive by mosquitoes whilst we stood around waiting to see them, but it was still worth it. My advice, wear some bug spray if going back at night to see them, so you can stay and enjoy their presence for as long as you wish too! My personal highlight was meeting little Jenny the Kea, wanted to put her in my handbag and take her back home to Australia with me :) Loved this park

They had several kinds of native birds. However, the birds are always hiding. Sadly, we didn't have the chance to see the kiwi bird because we couldn't go back to the park at night. As the kiwi birds are nocturnal, they can only be viewed certain time during the night. Nevertheless, get the awesome pictures, you're up for a nice surprise!

We spent hours here, you could easily spend a while day here! It is quite hilly in places, though.

It was clean, cool, heaps to see and do, reasonably priced. General admission also gets you free access back into the park at night to see the kiwis roaming in their large enclosures.

A must do for people of all ages!

We had a great time here. We were in a group with toddlers and found the paths to be easy to navigate with plenty of space for pushers. There was plenty to look at and at no time did we feel bored or wanting to rush our way through so we could leave.
We especially loved that we could return at night (with our original entry ticket) to see the Kiwis in their open-air enclosures.
We all enjoyed the log flume with some of the family going round more than once. We didn't go into the Bird Show as the queue was quite long and our toddlers were restless but we could hear it from outside once it started and it sounded like the audience was having a great time.

Hello Graham.
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit. We are very pleased you enjoyed the park. You certainly sounded like you made the most of all we have to offer here!
The return ticket at night is very popular and offers a unique opportunity to see kiwi without any glass and under the starry sky.
We hope you will be able to return some day to see our bird show.
