“Nice place”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

This is a very cool zoo/park. Petting the lion cub a little disappointing though. i thought you would get to play with the cubs but when we went, they had two cubs sleeping in a small open cage. You wait in line and lean down and tough their fur, it was kin of cool, but not amazing. They have adult lions in a very large open fenced in area. They looked a little sad. The rest of the property had lots of other animals deer, pigs, goats, wallabies,,too many to name, but it was fun to walk along through the different areas. They sell little bags of food and you get to feed the animals. If you do go, remember to save some of your food for the animals at the end of the walk...everyone wants to feed all the animals and its easy to run out of food and I think the animals at the end are sad because people don't have any food left.

“Proud to be a Kiwi”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

Super impressed with this park, and made our whole family proud to be kiwis, stunning bush, very well cared for animals and just a top rate facility. Will and already have highly recommended people to visit this operation. Lovely friendly staff and the manager who went out of his way to talk to us and share stories and the history of the area and the park. Top notch keep up the GREAT work.
A MUST VISIT PLACE

“Great half day's activity”

Really impressed at this place. Enjoyed stroking the lion cubs; the walk around the bush was interesting; the water tasted really nice and enjoyed getting so close to Pukeko's. Definitely recommend visiting here.

“Definitely worth a visit”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

Two big kids spent nearly 2 hours roaming around appreciating nature and feeding ducks, goats, fish and anything else that looked remotely hungry. Of course the encounter with the lion cubs was the highlight. The park itself is impressively clean and well maintained and it was a pleasure wandering around on a beautiful day. $30 for nearly 2 hours is pretty good value really. I felt a bit sorry for the adult lions as their enclosure is not large and the least attractive part of the park by some way.
