This is by far the best wildlife attration at Rotorua, plenty of interaction with the animals, built in a natural setting.

Lions were great and lots of trout for the kids to see. Beautiful grounds but certainly not cheap for a family. About $80 and only maybe 1-2hrs worth of entertainment.

We live here in Rotorua and tell all our guest that Paradise Valley Springs is the best wildlife park here. In fact about 40% of our visitors came up to visit us simply to go pet the baby lions there.

Our trip to Paradise Valley was one of the highlights of this year's family outing. Entry fees are a bit steep but being in close contact with the animals make it worthwhile. There's a clear stream that runs through the area with plenty of trout (I thought there would be kois too). The not-so-small lion cubs were asleep when we petted them. We arrived in time for the lion feeding. There were lots of visitors at that time, would've been nice if there were extra chairs. Remember to buy food pellet pouches to really enjoy the trip to this place. Plenty of photo opportunities with the animals. For us, this place beats going to a zoo.

The draw card for this wildlife park was to pat the 9 month old lion cubs. There were two of the (both girls) and they were adorable. If the lion cubs are under 6 months old you are allowed to be in the same area as them and play with them like you would a puppy, but from 6-12 months they have to be behind a barrier. You are still able to put your hand through and pat them though. It was a great experience. We were there on a wet day and there was plenty of shelter. The keepers were really friendly and knowledgable. The rest of the park had plenty of animals (which you were able to feed for $2), and it was a really pretty walk. It was a really nice way to spend a couple of hours.
