Spent an enjoyable afternoon in both the museum and village exploring the story of this incredible event. The museum is well planned and highly informative with a lot to look at and discover. However you can get a good overview of the events without having to read every detail. The village is a lovely walk even though it was pouring rain the day we were there. The reward for walking in the rain was the spectacular sight at the base of the waterfall. It was well worth the effort!! We had afternoon tea in the café but unfortunately they had run out of the spectacular scones I had noticed on the way in. My advice is to pre-order some before you go in if you are there later in the day. As we were there in heavy rain some of the paths were very wet so good footwear was essential!!
