The entire event was fun, welcoming and educational. The cast was entertaining and in the beginning teaching everyone about how the Maori lived generations ago. I’m a vegan and they were able to accompany my dietary needs. But the potatoes and yams was amazing with the charred/smoky flavor to them. Even the bus ride to and back to the village was fun.

From the moment we were picked up by the coach until we got back to our motel this was an excellent trip. The village was very welcoming and very informative and the food at the end was delicious. All in all an experience not to be missed

Kia Ora! This is how you will be greeted by the Tamaki Maori family in Rotorua. When you experience the culture, the food, the lifestyle, and the powerful strength and energy of the Maori, you will be absolutely amazed, as we were! The Haka... you just have to see it to believe it! It is wonderfully awe-inspiring! You are not just witnessing the Haka, you become a part of it as well! The food was delicious! It is buffet style. Drinks are available as well: coffee, tea, water, soft drinks. Try their herbal tea. It is said to have medicinal properties. We tried some and were not disappointed! Alcohol is available for a price. We forgot what the prices are.
There are salads available for Vegetarians.
If you have time, go ahead and meet with the Tamaki Maori! Your experience will be epic!

In the village are offered a lot of possibilities to learn more about the Maori culture. The amazing journey starts at the beginning (pick up) and ends in the evening when they drive you home. It‘s well organized! During the whole evening they sing, dance, tell storys and you can ask a lot of questions! It’s very interactive. The staff is so friendly, always smiling and it‘s a very familiar atmosphere. Overall, great experience and definitely worth the money.

An amazing experience, a must do for all visitors!

As a heads up vegetarians MUST book a veggie meal (I did, though there was also loads of amazing vegetables too... Save room for pudding!)

Wish we had more time in the village to ask more questions, that was a really cool. I’ve learnt a lot and now I want to go and learn even more!

The entertainment was incredible too. Just amazing! Our bus driver was hilarious which made it all the more fun!
