“Tired but perfectly fine”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

We stayed here for three nights last month in a triple room (2 doubles and 1 single).

I've stayed at this property many times over the last 25 years and nothing much has changed. Its a great place for the kids with the indoor heated pool and spas (which unfortuntately never seemed to be hot enough).

Rooms were adequate but tired however for the price we paid, I've got no complaints. For the second time our room was right near the service elevator which started up at 7am and went through to quite late which was very loud and very irritating.

Breakfast was average and I do object to a hotel of this standard using trestle tables. The chairs were old and the whole feel was one of being run down and neglected. We ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner and again the food was very average and disappointing for the price.

Had a great massage but was very annoyed to see unruly children being allowed to run, scream and jump around the spa pools inside the spa area.

Staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

It was value for money but the hotel is in dire need of a makeover.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the service elevator.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and also for your return visits over many years. I can advise we do have plans ahead to refresh our rooms and apologise for the service elevator being switched on at such an early hour, this should not have happened. We are also starting an upgrade of the breakfast area this week so this will have a refreshed look shortly. We will also monitor the communal area more closely for noise but this can be a little difficult sometimes depending on numbers in the pools. We hope to see you again in the future.
Kind Regards.

I always stay here when in Rotorua on business. The staff are friendly and genuinely want to make your stay the best it can be. The rooms are clean and tidy and great views of the lake can be enjoyed too. The hotel is centrally located close to the Polynesion Spa, shops, lakeside walkways, Rotorua Museum and CBD.The Nikau restaurant serves good wholesome meals which taste good.

Room Tip: Get views of the lak or room with a spa

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel and were very happy with the room upgrade we received to a superior room. The room was very nicely appointed and very clean. We also found the service to be extremely good and we thoroughly enjoyed the poolside breakfast in spite of the fact that the staff seemed to be super busy. The manager on duty (John Cherry), was extremely obliging.
We found this hotel lived up to it's 4plus star rating and we would definitely stay at this hotel again. The only criticism I would make was that the temperature was a little too warm in some of the hallways.

I changed rooms after the first night as the road noise was too much. (large trucks rubble by a street away). The next room had a shower/wet room that flooded the entire floor when you had a shower.

The air conditioning units are very noisy, and located right beside the bed at head heigh, so you can either have cool air and loud noise, or a warm room and just listen to the other guests.

The lobby is very plush, the breakfast is served downstairs beside the pool and they do a good porridge.

If you take the stairs between floors you notice how little upkeep has been done away from the foyer, peeling up cork tiles on the floor and a smell of damp.

Would not sty again.

We stayed for 4 nights out of our week-long holiday in Rotorua during this April school holidays.
We like its central location and the relaxed atmosphere, the friendliness of the helpful staff. Many of them we met last December have remembered us and greeted us like friends. The chef at the restaurant came to shake my hand and gave us treats both time. How nice! The porters kindly stored our bikes securely in and out of the storage area daily after each ride. Many thanks.

Special promotion deals for room and meals including the buffet breakfast encouraged lots of families spend their holidays there on the top of the usual overseas visitors hence the hotel was very busy. Lots of tables were added outside by the pool during breakfast time. Lovely to see some children had their swim and breakfast at the same time. We enjoyed the variety of food on offer every morning, particularly the fresh fruits. The pancake machine was very popular among the youngs and olds.

The spa pool area was under construction in our last stay, so this time I would like to try it. The decoration was simple but relaxing, with some Nikau palms and a couple of lounge chairs and drinking water for guests. The water temperature was different each day but largely very warm.
It was hot in Rotorua. We could feel the heat in the room even at night. The air conditioning unit next to the bed could be quite noisy if you were a light sleeper but it did not bother me.

Overall we had a lovely stay. Thank you.

I travel frequently with work overseas, this time I came to Rotorua with my wife for a 5 day holiday and stayed at this lovely hotel. The location, hotel, staff and facilities are fantastic !! They have great rooms with 24/7 room service no matter what time you need to eat, you can ! As the gym is on level one, it also operates 24/7. here is a tip book club room for lovely internet access, breakfast, canapes and evening drinks are free.

Now we must mention about this magic hotelier - John Chetty whio certainly has customer service blended in him and is so tuned in to deliver 5 star service and ensures that guests attention and requests are looked after 100%. We had minor requests about the room facilities and dining he just dealt with it and fixed in a snap and offered complimentary drinks as well all with a smile and professionally.

We will be back next year and will be staying with Millennium again, plus bring our friends and families as well for a great holiday, John Chetty is truly a star in this organization.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this beautiful hotel during the Easter weekend. We really enjoyed our stay there. Great hotel at a great location. I had a booked a lake view room and it stood to its name. Room was great, nice decor with all amneties and a great neat and clean bathroom. Best was balcony where one could get out for a smoko break or just sit and have a beer or two watching at the mighty Rotorua lake!

Lots of restaurants near by. Polynesian spa just across the garden!

Highly recommended!

Our lakeview rooms with balconies are definitely a nice way to enhance your stay and of course take in the wonderful landscape of Rotorua. Yes, being a central location also allows you to experience our many restaurants and the Polynesian Spa, just a brief walk away. Thank you for taking the time to post your comments and recommendation. Kind Regards.
