My family of five felt this hotel was one of the highlights of our time in New Zealand. We always enjoy touring the mud pots and the geysers in this area and this is the best we have found. The staff was helpful and pleasant to work with. The rooms were nice, convenient and well maintained. The highlight of our stay is always the Haka and Hangi. The entertainment is very native and enjoyable while the food is delicious. Buffet breakfasts are great, also.

The hotel is centrally located with proximity to town, souvenir stores, beautiful views of rotorua lake from our room and just across from polynesian spa !! The rooms were sufficiently big enough for a couple. The swimming pool, in house spa and gym are fantastic. However I cannot comment on restaurant food as we had food outside for all three nights that we stayed. The breakfast spread was very lavish. The overall ambience of the hotel is good. We had a comfortable stay and would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floors facing the lake.

The hotel is situated next to the lake and best to ask for a room overlooking this way. Furnishings were very nice and the whole area kept nice and clean. Lots of great ambience in the foyer area and bar for just catching up with the day. The pool area is undercover for breezy days. Definitely try the breakfast - you won't need to eat til dinner time! Staff were helpful and friendly. Room service was very quick and our meal delicious. If you get hot at night with the thermal heating - just open your door like we did. It was lovely to have the fresh air as well. My only complaint is the use of a water saver shower head - not good for washing long hair.

Room Tip: Higher floors overlooking the lake

This Hotel has a good ambience. The quality of furnishings in the foyer and general front area makes for relaxing times. The hotel is sited in a central position and has good views if you are up high. We have stayed here a number of times and have had an enjoyable time each stay. Try a walk to / through the , park gardens and heritage buildings by the Museum. Rooms are clean and roomy and value for money.

Room Tip: Lake facing room over to the baths have good views
