Owner description: The Blue Baths is a beautiful heritage listed Bathhouse located in Government Gardens, Rotorua. An iconic feature of the city, the art deco Blue Baths daringly offered mixed sex bathing for the first time in a public facility in New Zealand, way back in 1931. Nowadays visitors can take a self guided gallery tour of the Museum or a dip in the historic geothermally heated pools. The building is also used as a venue for weddings and other special events. In the Lido Lounge (once the Adult Pool) seasons of original, homegrown theatre feature throughout the year. Summer 2106 see's The Choice (Jan 23 - Feb 26) directed by Jennifer Ward-Lealand, storm the stage. A cleverly scripted parody of the current cult of TV talent shows, The Choice showcases an outstanding line-up of kiwi talent. Än Auckland theatre critic says "Wickedly written, slickly performed and cleverly directed to parody the current talent show phenomenon that dominates our airwaves, The Choice is undoubtedly the funniest show I've seen for a long, long time. In fact I can't remember the last time we laughed so much until we wept. And yes they were definitely tears of joy watching the brilliant cast on stage at The Choice at the Blue Baths in Rotorua" Sharu Delilkan - Theatre Scenes.

Just spent an appalling evening at the Great Gadsby show at the blue Baths Rotorua. Food was tasteless, drinks were over price ($32 for a bottle of wine) and the entertainment was nothing short of pathetic. The manager came over to our table to tell us that we were too loud, Hello! this is a Xmas Party!. Last year was great but this year unfortunately it is not worth the entry price.

Our manager was responding to complaints by other patrons about the behaviour of people at this table early in the evening. They did subsequently quieten; and dined and danced till midnight. However when this particular guest left he a) unlawfully took alcohol from the venue b) proceeded to scull wine (from the bottle) in the Liquor Ban area outside c) behaved in an extremely aggressive and threatening manner, verbally abusing and physically assaulting our duty manager whilst attempting to steal her cell phone. Both the group’s employer and Rotorua Police were informed and a Trespass Order has since been served to this person. We are disappointed that Trip Advisor has chosen to decline our repeated requests to remove this post.

We hosted a small function at the Blue Baths this past week .... the lobby suited us just fine as we only had 20 in attendance ... fantastic venue, fabulous service and the nibbles were exquisite!!!

This is my favourite family hot pool in central town of rotorua. I love the fact that it isn't busy like the Polynesian spa. I love the setting and the old fashion music playing. I always feel so relaxed after being here. Our favourite thing to do is go mountain biking and then to the blue baths. The staff are always super friendly. Don't tell too many people because i love it nice and quiet!!!

Once upon a time this was probably a high class destination, but with cold scruffy changing rooms, and only 2 small hot pools and a single slightly warm hot pool, all of which are shabby the facility is over priced and lacking in atmosphere. Nothing special and you would be better using the municipal pool or checking into a motel with a pool.

This was a nice caual place to visit for an afternoon. It has a bit of history and the pools are nice. Bit pricey but this happens in touristy places. The main pool is only moderately heated (felt about 28deg) and there are two other small pools that are much much warmer. These were quite heavily chlorinated. The place wasnt busy which we loved!
