“Nice way to spend a cool morning”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

We decided to take a breakfast cruise with our 2 young children while staying in Rotorua recently. I rang up to book the day before and the man I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and helpful.

It was a cold, foggy morning so was nice to board the boat which was nice and warm. We were welcomed aboard by the friendly staff and shown our seats. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the food was delicious.

We couldn't see much at first as it was quite foggy but once the fog lifted the view was better. It was lovely cruising around the lake. The captain shared some great information about the lake and the area.

Our 2.5 year old got to go up to where the captain was sitting and driving. He got to put on the captains hat and 'drive' the boat which he was really excited about. All the staff members were lovely and really good with the children. Had a lovely chat with one of the staff members who also rushed after us once we left the boat to give us some things we had left behind! Service above and beyond.

Though cold, it was nice to go outside and stand at the front of the boat to enjoy the outlook. Was a lovely morning and went too quickly!!

“Wonderful breakfast”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

We went on a breakfast cruise on our last morning in Rotorua. Excellent and plentiful food even though there were two bus loads of tourists on board. Very pleasant staff who were only to happy to answer any questions. Pity there wasn't a bit more commentary and a closer look at the island would have been nice.

“A relaxing outing on a paddle boat”
Reviewed May 9, 2014

It was a beautiful day but somehow there were only 6 people wanting to do the trip and I was very surprised they ran it just for us. We had the royal treatment and all got to know each other over muffins and coffee/tea, included in the cost of the outing. The boat didn't get as close to the island and bird life as I would have liked but we could ask as many questions as we liked. We looked in on the captain to get his view and also into the housing of the paddle. They don't use steam anymore so we saw the engine. There were so any birds swimming beside the boat, and where it moors. I'd never seen so many so close.

“Cheerful captain”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

We took our family of five for a breakfast cruise on the Lakeland queen. The staff were very friendly, especially the captain who was more than happy to pose for photos with the kids. The breakfast was OK and it was a good way to have a look back at the city and get your bearings of where other attractions were located.
