My wife and I are Rotorua locals who decided to 'eat out' last night instead of cooking at home. We had heard great things about the newly renovated Regent of Rotorua, and of the enthusiasm and service of the new owners. We were not dissappointed. The ambience in the new restaurant was warm and welcoming. The service was friendly and caring but not too intrusive, and the food was sublime! We shared a chicken pate, I then had the lentil main course accompanied with a Gisborne Viognier. Beautiful. My wife had the chicken breast. We then had dessert - I had the poached plum with chocolate mousse and licorice ice-cream (all made on site) and my wife had a lemon tart (I think) - all beautiful. We will be back and yes, I highly recommend you give the restaurant a try!
