The woodlands are a must for walkers and BMX ers. Lots of paths through wonderful scenery for differing abilities. I understand why this attraction was No 1 on Tripadvisers things to do.

“Free and pretty!”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

Multiple trails which can be used for walking, running, or mountain biking. The shortest trail is 30 minutes walk and wheelchair accessible. There is no charge for admission and it is wonderful to enjoy the redwoods mixed in with the native trees. Also, the sulfur smell from Rotorua was not present here. Close to town. A visit is highly recommended for a peaceful walk!

This is a lovely place for a short hike on a well-marked and easy path through the forest. Peaceful and serene place.

“Stuff walking, flying down from the top on an MTB the only way to go!”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Be it clubs, council or volunteers, Thanks to all those involved with the track building and signage.
Helpful staff at the shops and everyone we came across was friendly. The only one grip was that the MTB bus finished too early on the Sunday (3:30was last trip up). Could've got three more runs in before the days end and there was plenty of fellow Riders that would've been happy to pay for trips up ($40 for six trips up the hill)
Tracks impeccable condition and very fast. Scenery awesome and with plenty of hoses with clean drinking water lasted the day okay.
Favourite track was 'Corners'.
Will certainly be back.
