This forest is really cool and the different walks are good signposted with times. Just the short one is great to see what the forest has to offer.

Mountain bike trails are very diverse and excellent entertainment. The only problem was the delay with the bus in getting to the top of the trail.

Just like being back in Muir Woods San Francisco. This was simply stunning and made me feel proud to be a New Zealander having this in our own back yard. Recommend everyone to visit

Had a great time riding in the park over 5 days. Tracks are incredibly well maintained, the people who frequent it are respectful, considerate and polite, and the coffee in the mountain bike carpark is pretty good. Generally a great time was had by all. Self made fun generally though, so if you like organised maybe this isnt the spot for you!

We hiked the quarry trail (90-minutes - signposted as the "Green Track") through the lovely redwood forest. As this track has a good-sized hill on it, you need to be somewhat fit and to have hiking shoes or trail runners. There is only one spot on the trail with a view and that view is restricted - you have to clamber up onto a boulder to fully see it. There were some joggers on the track, but no horses or mountain bikes. The raised walkway over the mineral stream offered a very pretty view.

This track is not suitable for the decrepit, or for those with young children in strollers. There are other tracks in the forest much better suited to those demographics.

If you want a pleasant forest hike which will get your heart pumping a bit as you climb, this is a good route to take. It might get slippery if it is raining though. There are no toilets or water on the track itself, but both are available at the information hut at the entrance to the hike.
