“Just gorgeous!”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

We didn't think four days could be so rejuvenating! We loved everything about our stay. The cosy cottage, the goodies provided, fresh eggs we could collect everyday, the cute animals, hot tub.. It is only three minutes walk to The Farmhouse horse riding place, were my daughter and I had a lovely 1 1/2 hour ride. Dad and son went off to do Quad biking at a local place and came back beaming! The kids played soccer until late, or we played volleyball together. The hosts, Marianne, Rene and kids were just lovely. The place is a credit to them. Loved it! Many thanks.

We stayed here for 4 nights during the school holidays - my partner, myself and 2 kids and we loved it. Its very warm, friendly, peaceful and a great retreat. The views from the cottage are stunning and there is a lovely friendly vibe here. The kids really loved the donkeys and chickens and rabbits and it was a treat to go and get fresh eggs in the morning and to let the chickens out. It is very close to Rotorua town and the luge and all the fantastic things to do in the area, and at the same time its a lovley retreat - welcoming and relaxing. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck during the day and at night time with a view of the moon and stars, and the cottage is full of great things, toys, books, dvds and lovely breakfast goodies. The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds are warm and comfortable. Loved staying here - thank you!

If you are looking for the place for relax, getting away from hustle-bustle, this is the place. It's easy to imagine for us, the hosts, Marianne and Rene, have considered and make their effort to have such a cosy hideaway for their guests. The cottage is beautifully decorated. Once you step in there, you can find how fabulous their taste is.

The cottage has got 2 bedrooms, one is Queen sized and another is two bedded, fully equipped kitchen, bath room, DVD/book/magazine selections. You can use washing machine locates inside hut attached to cottage without charge. You can also use BBQ equipment outside the cottage and the hot tab (jacuzzi) underneath the night sky, counting shooting stars!

There is a huge garden between host house and the cottage and you can meet some animals; donkey, hen and bunny! Marianne offers us fresh free range egg from those hens to cook for brekkie. She also allowed us to pick up more from a henhouse if we need. So we did. And a hen jumped out and we had to chase her. Somehow I managed to catch her and on the way I went back to a henhouse, she suddenly dropped something on my foot. Guess what... It was the fresh egg just from her! This is one of the funniest thing I had ever!

Anyway, we recommend to stay this Blossom Cottage, at least 2 nights, if you come around Rotorua area. One night is too short to enjoy whole the things offered by the host and beautiful scenery.

This is a fantastic place to stay, not just for families but also for couples. The cottage is secluded and private, and every need has been accounted for and taken care of. The hosts are very friendly and have obviously put a great deal of time, thought, and care into making it an absolutely superb experience. The highlight is the spa pool, with a view of rolling hills, tall trees, and at night the crystal clear stars glittering overhead. It doesn't get any better than a hot soak with quiet nature all around, after a day of sightseeing. Most highly recommended!

This is a gem of a place to stay. The rural outlook and being so close to Rotorua without the sulphur smell! Cosy and lovely cottage. They have thought of everything and it really is the only place to stay if you are coming to Rotorua. So peaceful and hot tub fantastic!

Perfect spot for families, great location, close to Rotorua but far enough away from the traffic and noise. Great to come home and have a spa once the children were tucked up in bed.

The children loved the farm animals, talking to the cows, collecting eggs and playing with the rabbits. We all enjoyed the fresh eggs for breakfast.

The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. All linen is crisp and of great quality. Beds are comfortable and rooms spacious and beautifully decorated.

Marianne has thought of everything and we can't wait to return.

A perfect weekend away.

My partner and I stayed at Blossom Cottage and cannot say enough about the outstanding experience we had. The hosts are just superb greeting us with delcious home baking and making us feel like part of their family. The scenery is gorgeous and the hot tub was just idealic especially after a busy day sightseeing! The cottage itself is just beautiful, Marianne and Rene have thought of every possible detail to make this a home away from home. If you are ever in Rotorua I would choose Blossom Cottage over any other hotel/motel.
