“Great little find”
Reviewed March 28, 2014 via mobile

This was a great little find for us thanks to the terrific reviews from Trip Advisor. Food and service was very good - it was exactly what we wanted for a nice, simple and casual meal. Authentic food at great prices.

Tip - it is very small so you probably need to book.

“Excellent Meals”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

We decided to pop in to Sabroso having read all the reviews online. It was a bad mistake..we should have booked in advance!! The meals were excellent and the service was great! Sydney doesn't have any real authentic Mexican restaurant such as yours and we were really delighted and surprised by the quality of the meal! Wow!! Thank you for an amazing experience!

“A fresh change”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

We tried Sabroso based on its high TA rating and an interesting menu. It is definitely popular - we rolled up on a mid-week night and could not get a table. Booked for the next night. The restaurant is small, crowded, a bit noisy, but with a relaxed charm.

The menu has a diverse range of dishes, including Mexican, Caribbean and South American styles. We started by sharing the black bean rolls with guacamole - delicious. For mains, I had the chicken and chorizo salad (excellent), and my wife had the Caribbean prawns - light and very tasty.

They provide three chili sauces to the table to spice up you food as you choose. We sampled all three - when they say the 'hot' one is hot, they really mean it.

The house sangria was quite good and reasonably priced, as was the food - all up about $60 in total for 2.

Service was very friendly and helpful. Each course arrived in good time.

Overall, we enjoyed having good quality food that is distinctly different from most restaurants. Well worth a visit - but do book.

Thanks for visiting Sabroso Shereeann. Our menu will always include plenty of the vegetarian and vegan items that are typical in the indigenous Latin American diet. We're glad you enjoyed and hope to see you back.

7BFW,

It's difficult to believe that you really dined at Sabroso. We are renowned for offering good portions of authentic Latin American food at great values in a full service environment (mains starting from $17.50).

The interior finishes of Sabroso include a lovely red brick wall complete with built in nicho and red tile roof over the bar and wrought iron lighting fixtures and wall sconces - all lovingly and painstakingly designed and built by co-owner John Loeffer. The small dining room and public restroom are decorated with original artworks, carvings, tapestries and instruments all hand crafted in Central and South America.

It would be very disappointing to see trip advisor being used as a tool to undermine one business in order to elevate anothers ranking.
