We have got warmhearted reception by the hosts. Two days stay made us feel much relaxed and without any inconvenience. Also, we enjoyed very tasty desserts , different type of breakfasts, and had a nice lookout of the wonderful scenes of the lake view. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Tui room has nice lake view, enjoy the sunrise

Sheila and her husband were most freindly and helpful hosts. The house is in a fabulous position with their rear garden running down to the lake shore. The lake is very beautiful and peaceful, especially in early morning with ducks and ducklings swimming along the lakeside. Ginie, the hostess, is a wonderful cook, and we were spoilt with her home cooking. It is an oasis of calm and peace after a busy sight-seeing day.

We stayed for four nights and had a wonderful time. Our room was comfortable and the different gourmet breakfasts each day were a highlight, Ginie is an excellent cook. It was so relaxing to sit on the deck in perfect peace and quiet and take in the beautiful lakeside views whilst still being close to the attractions and centre, just a few minutes in the car. Highly recommended.

Stayed for 2 nights and had a really wonderful stay. Location is very good with the area being quiet but still not far from the centre. Breakfast is excellent and views from the terrace are one of a kind. Highly recommended

We stayed 3 nights with Ginie and Bob and had a great time. Our room was comfortable and we loved having the use of the main living room and the deck, just a few steps from the lake. It was great to be far enough out of town not to suffer the sulphur smell, but still close enough that we go in and out quickly. Ginie and Bob made us feel completely at home. Ginie cooks great breakfasts and was happy to serve it at whatever time suited us. We'd definitely come here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shula's lake house. We found the location ideal, as it was close to all the attractions in Rotorua, right on the lake for a lovely view, but yet far enough from town to avoid the "smell of Rotorua." Ginnie and Bob were great hosts - they were helpful with everything we needed, but gave us our privacy/space as well. The breakfasts here were AMAZING - the best we had in several B&B's we stayed in throughout New Zealand.

Room Tip: Room suggestion: The suite on the top floor offers a little more privacy, since the other room opens...

we stayed for three nights in shula's lake house. we loved every minute of it, our room had the best view of the lake. bob and ginie are great hosts, ginie cooked us a delicious breakfast every morning and also some goodies to snack on during the evening. for instance, when we arrived at night, we enjoyed some home made banana bread. the lake house is a bit outside of rotorua and you do not get the sulphur smell at all. we felt very much at home and could do as we pleased. the room was huge and squeaky clean, the bed very comfy. the house itself is a gem, with beautiful wooden floors. we can thoroughly recommend this b&b.
