“Top notch!”

The staff really made this place special. Everyone we dealt with was accommodating and genuine - nothing was a problem. This coupled with the views and the delicious food from the onsite restaurant make a great choice for a relaxing get away. Oh and the spa treatments were excellent as well! Thank you for an wonderful weekend away.

This Resort is definitely worth a pampering weekend away. Accommodation was great.
The Spa experience was really an event to remember, so many choices of treatments. Restaurant /dining - food fantastic with exceptional presentation. Nothing too much trouble for the staff, very friendly. Recommend this destination for an unwinding break away.

Room Tip: I would recommend downstairs by the lake front.

We stayed at this well run resort in the NZ winter. The restaurant was very good, the staff very efficient and organised, friendly and capable. We both had use of the facilities including the spa resort. I slept like a baby. They did go out of their way to accomodate our needs.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms seem to have more privacy.

Beware of this hotel. In a few words.... there was a huge wad of black hair in our drain, STRONG smell of perfume/cologne in all rooms, smashed mosquitos on the walls of our room, spa was drained, pool was freezing, photos are misleading, outdated decor and property.

The only positive is that the property is lakeside and the staff was pleasant and helpful. That's about it.

Just fyi - Rotorua in general is a trashy place with a shady downtown area full of shady people. Now I understand why New Zealanders refer to it as Roto-Vegas. We won't be returning.

Room Tip: Don't choose any room...go to a different hotel.

This hotel was so close to being the perfect experience but was let down by inexperienced night time staff. On arrival the service was exceptional, we were given a guided tour of the resort and our room. The rooms were great, good size, well designed and contained a big spa. Slightly disappointed with the angle of the hotel as it is side facing to the lake and there is a small road in between, we were hoping to be over the lake. This disappointment was negated when we took a stroll as the sun was setting and were able to have a priceless romantic moment standing out on the jetty over the magnificent lake. This was followed by further good luck with private use of the spa area as no other guest were around. The staff were extremely helpful and hand delivered drinks to us in the spa - the drinks were well overpriced but we would have paid anything not to have to get out of the spa!

This is where our experience went downhill - we had heard good things about the restaurant plus the hotel is a long way out of town and has nothing around it. There were only 2 other couples in the big room but the staff sat us next to another couple, so close that our chairs were touching, The whole restaurant was silent and both us and the other couple felt the need to whisper as it was so uncomfortable. We were then left without service for about 15mins. When we were eventually served we were that over the experience we asked to have our meals delivered to our room. This took over an hour and when they arrived the fish was rubbery and the profiteroles frozen.

After this our experience went from 5 stars to 2 however in the morning, the hotel restored our love. When checking out we explained what had happed and were given our meal half price. We didn’t ask for or expect this. But it wasn’t just the discount, the staff had a genuine care for us and the hotel reputation. Well done, I would recommend this resort to any couple after that really special, personalised experience.

Thumbs up to this place. We stayed two nights. The hotel staff are excellent. Warm, friendly and very accommodating. The resto food was exceptionally good. Excellent cuts and quality of meats cooked to perfection and great in taste.
The rooms are a bit small, but very very comfortable. Its close to the lake, so offers a great walking space.
We used the spa and it was fantastic. Very relaxing and great fun.
One of the best properties I have stayed at so far.

i recently came in for breakfast, what can i say absolutely amazing, pineapple and carrot muffins were beautiful as was the eggs bene and kiwi breakfast although no ham, my partner did however point out there was no kiwi staff members (alot of Asians) except a young girl in the kitchen (who looked like she was thoroughly enjoying her morning), would be nice to see kiwis in a indigenous restaurant, but waiter was very polite (young Chinese man) blew us away with his professionalism and manner. restaurant was clean and nothing out of place, bumped into young chef at petrol station and she was willing to answer my 100 questions, very good ambassador for the resort such a nice girl (alice??) and seemed to really enjoy her job, overall experience A+++ breakfast was faultless.......muffin recipe?? :D

Room Tip: didn't stay here just ate in
