You would enjoy soaking your feet in thermal water. Just make sure you leave before a big group of tourists wants to do the same:) The park is huge! Many hidden spots. Worth spending hour or two. Walking distance from the town center.

I think Kuirau Park has some of the best boiling mud pools in town. Do not underestimate it because it is free - It is great here.
At least a 1/2 hour stroll around, relatively flat land.
The market here on Saturday mornings is a great place to have a late brekkie.
I do not recommend going here after dark.

Right in the heart of Rotorua lies this FREE geothermal park. Park your car in the lot, and just a few steps away enjoy bubbling mud pools, steaming hot lakes, even a footbath where you can soak your feet in the warm waters. Great value and enjoyed spending an hour wandering...just follow the steam!

Lots of thermal activity - be sure to utilize the several soaking pools. Go see the Pukeko birds (black with blue breast and red/orange beaks. They are pretty tame and are usually in the large fenced in area at the end of the park, Access gate allows tourist to enter... Be sure to smell the blind flowers

We enjoyed an hour or two walking around this free attraction, enchanted by the notion of living on top of such dangerous forces. Pools bubbled and steamed, some of them pretty stinky and mud plopped and gurgled, while we were intrigued by the amount of bird and plant-life living in this crazy environment. I was a bit disappointed at the amount of litter people had tossed into the enclosures.
