“Foot baths”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Such a shame that they have let the park go, was such a great place to visit especially with toot and whistle, in saying that still love those hot foot pools and a walk around the lake is nice. Locals tell you to an eye on crime.

“Great park”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

I agree wtih previous posters, this park is great for young kids, they get a great workout on the park equipment and I got to see the geothermal activity. Seeing as we were on a budget we didnt go to other thermal parks, as the kids werent interested in steaming water and bubbling mud, they just loved the park equipment.

“Park and geothermal walk all in one”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

If you have younger kids and are on a budget then Kuirau park is a must when in Rotorua. Take a walk around the park to see a range of geothermal areas. These include mineral and bubbling mud pools. There is also a shallow hot pool for dipping your feet into which is nice. FInally there is a great park with plenty of different kinds of play equipment, In fact I think it is better than the Volcanic playground down on the water front. My 9 year old lasted a lot longer on this playground, where as he got pretty bored on the Volcanic one after 20mins or so.

“Free geothermal atraction”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

This is right in town (across the street from several of the hostels) and a beautiful walk. You see a nice variety of boiling mud and hot springs with beautiful fragrant gardens - and a great market on Saturdays. It is not as spectacular as some of what you will see in the surrounding parks, but it is free and easy to access. It is a good place to "get your feet wet" in Rotorua geothermals.

“All the sights and smells of Rotorua”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

Why pay huge prices to go see mud pools and steam, when you can see it all here for free.
Leasurly wander through the park but do not wander off the tracks otherwise you may never be seen again,(just kidding) but be aware that the pools are HOT! and not for dipping your toes into.
