Good for folks who want to experience thermal activity but are on a tight budget. Here you can get a good taste for free.

“Not as good as it used to be.”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

The park is not as good as it used to be and sadly sometimes there are some pretty undesirable people hanging around some areas of the park. Pity because it is a lovely area.

“All the hiss and bubble without the price tag”
Reviewed February 19, 2012

We had lunch at the Saturday Market ($5 butter chicken - yum!), stocked up on homegrown organic veges, and poked around the art stalls. Stroll through Kairau Park first before you go pay to see the same mud and steam somewhere else.

“A bit of everything”
Reviewed January 29, 2012

With a playground, hot bath for your feet, picnic tables, little paddling pool with a fountain, and the boiling mud/steam areas, there was enough to keep us entertained for a couple of hours.
