Wow!! Our family of 5 stayed in one of the best rooms where everything is modern, Clean and Fresh. Warm all day and night great heating in every room. Shower AA++/Spa to die for and our kids can vouch for that. Beds perfect and super-huge. The latest dvds that our boys enjoyed and the dinning area beautiful and modern. Such friendly and helpful host thank you Mike and Annemarie for making our stay AWESOME and yes we will be back....... But if I could point out one little detail that we would have changed,, Yeap you guess it ...We would have stayed longer unfortunately Sunday came to soon.. Thanks again

Room Tip: Room 7 perfect for a family, We have teenage children Heaps of room.

Hi Dyan, thanks for the review and thanks for your family staying with us. Sorry…. That’s a secret that we want all families to know. We are great place to stay and have fun. A part of the key here is great interaction with the guests and having fun. Hoping you will back soon! There is still lots more to do here.

My family (2 adults, 2 young children) stayed at Arista for 2 nights - this place is really good value for money and definitely one of the best motels in NZ. The rooms are nice and warm (heated all day), dry and clean and the decor is modern. Oh and the rooms are huge. We stayed in a family unit which had a super king downstairs, queen and 3 singles upstairs on the mezzanine. The bed's were all comfortable, had the best sleep there. TV's on both levels, and DVD player on "kids" upper level which was great. The owners also provide a great selection of DVD's for free. The other highlights for the kids was the super playground which was visible from the room and the private spa bath at the back. All the space and little extras made our holiday that much nicer and relaxed. Only gripe - didn't get to stay longer! If you have kids don't think about staying anywhere else in Rotorua!

Room Tip: So warm you can sleep with your courtyard door open peacefully despite being on Fenton St....

Thanks for your review. We are so glad we put in the great play ground it been great for Mums and Dads and kids. If the kids are having a nice time then Mum and Dad have a break! We know we have 3 young kids. We normally buy a couple of new DVD’s a week and this gives the kids a few good DVD’s to choose from to keep them entertained. Thanks again.

My partner and I stayed for 4 nights on our first overseas trip together (May 2012). The Arista had amazingly helpful hosts (no need to go to Tourist information- Mike either knew it all or had a way to find out!) The room was styled nicely and enormous! The kitchen was exactly what we needed to cook up quick breakfasts and store snacks (PS. New Zealand bacon is AWESOME!) The complimentary plunger coffee was a nice touch too! And as advertised... REALLY comfortable beds! This is something the more budget conscious hotel/motels really lack in our experience but the Arista went above and beyond in this department. It's very much appreciated!
The spa pool was spotless and roomy and we used it both nights we didn't go to the thermal spa in town.
The heating was perfect and so cosy given that we come from a city in constant denial that Winter even exists! I loved the bathroom heater in particular- no need for one half of a couple to freeze while sharing the shower! ;) It was also great for drying bathmats and swimming costumes after all our crazy water activities (9am 4degree Zorbing anyone?)
Location wise- I'd recommend hiring a car for Rotorua anyway as all the attractions are very spaced out but the Arista is nice and central and easy to navigate to and from. You could walk to the city centre if you're keen... but we were resigned to a relaxing/lazy holiday.
The eco-nerd in me loved the recycling bin provided in the room too. Just another sign that the Arista owners really care.

Hi there, thanks very much for you nice review. You put a lot of time into it. We really to pride ourselves on having excellent local knowledge, this is key to ensuring our guests have a great time. Certainly the rooms are warm as we are one of the lucky motels to be on thermal which means that there is hot water going through our heaters 24 / 7. We are happy your stay was great!

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in early May. The rooms are big and spotlessly clean. There was on outside spa tub but we didn't use it as it looked a bit tired under a plastic corrugated roof... But the bedroom, bathroom, sitting area and kitchenette were excellent.
Mike and Annemarie are the owners and they are wonderfully friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Arista in Rotorua if you are that way for a few days.

Thankyou so much for your lovely reveiw! We are two weeks away from finishing a major $250,000 refurbishment, our last bathroom was finished today and all kitchens will be brand new in two weeks time. We still have big plans for our spa areas, starting with a repaint next month.. we just could not do it all at once! We are so glad you enjoyed our hospitality.. we are here to help and we are passionate about Rotorua!

kind regards,
Annemarie.

I stayed here for 3 nights in May 2012 and was blown away by the rooms. This was the most enormous motel room, featuring very generous bathroom, massive loft space with a king bed, and separate kitchenette/living area, all thermally heated 24 hours so there was always a warm, toasty place to come home to.

I loved the private spa that has its own little enclosed patio. I particularly liked all the complimentary bath products - I wondered what the lovely smell was permeating the place and discovered the manuka honey bath gel - froths up ALOT in the spa - be warned!

Mike was a pleasure to deal with, he was very friendly and very keen to help maximise my time in Rotorua, and offered discount vouchers for attractions too.

I liked the size and location of this motel - not too big (much better than a chain motel) and located on Fenton St, which is a main road in Rotorua, containing restaurants, supermarkets, and an easy gateway to many attractions. Rotorua itself isn't huge, so getting around is easy.

There are countless motels in Rotorua, but I believe this place is a cut above, for the discerning traveller who isn't interested in staying in generic, bland motel chains. I was very happy with my stay here, I would not hesitate to recommend it to others, and intend to bring my partner back with me next time so we can both enjoy it!

Thank you so much for your awesome reveiw, you put a lot of thought into what you wrote and we really appreciate it. For us being in this business is about people and we love it when people have a great time in Rotorua!
I'm glad you enjoyed the space of our rooms.. if it was a new build it would have twice as many units at half the size. That's one of the things that we think is really unique about our property.
We are glad you enjoyed our bath products, we are trying as much as possible to go as 'eco' as we can and we put a lot of thought into the products we supply.

Thanks again, you really made our day!

Stayed this weekend as ran in the Rotorua Marathon (quarter!) with 3 girlfriends, we loved the space as it felt like we weren't falling over each other, the owners were so accomodating and keen to give advice for places to eat. Great price point and would definitly recommend to families :)

Hi!

Thankyou for your neat reveiw! you inspired me a lot to get running again... I'm now up to 9km.
We are so glad you enjoyed the space of our rooms, and the spa after a tough morning pounding around the lake! We are nearly finished our renovation, so next time hopefully we will be even better. Hope to see you ladies again next year; running with you instead of just talking about it!

Kind regards,
Annemarie.
