We arrived with some stunning views on our drive and it was made even nicer by the hotel. The rooms are what you need and clean, and what made it even nicer was the warm welcome and helpfulness of everybody. The area is amazing and should we come back to New Zealand we would return here thanks.

We stayed for 2 nights at Aloha. We had a spectacular view of the bay from our balcony: the sunrises over the water were breathtaking. Staff were quite pleasant. I only wish we had enough time to stay a little longer as we didn't get a chance to see the "hole in the rock" or have a swim in the very inviting swimming pool below our balcony.

I have to warn, booked the accomodation long before and was very dissapointed we booked a 2 bedroom appartment 2 couples and a medium sized dog. when we arrived the first thing we heard was oh that is a big dog (she is not even knee size so medium) than we couldn t get in our room because there were families staying and the dog couldn t be there. we should take a room no seaview as we booked and two singles instead to the same prize. We asked how comes that we can t get the room we booked and got the repy I didn t take the booking it was my partners mom i don t know why she booked you in the room.

very shocking we stayed in many places traveled whole new zealand with our dog. definitey this is not a pet friendy place as it says and you can t trust on bookings you made!

We ended up staying in paihia in the edgewater 5 star with our dog to the same price.

all in one a shooking experience how arrogant the owner was after many times confirming the booking!

We stayed at the Aloha In October 2011.
We had originally looked to stay in the Town but consider ourselves fortunate to have found this Motel on the outskirts.
It is only a short walk to the town but the hill may be too much for some people to walk up and down.

The advantage of being at the top of the hill is that some of units, including the one we stayed in, have great views over the bay.
The unit we stayed in was spotless.,and the free internet access was a bonus.
(Free WiFi or via a PC in the games room)

We had been moving on almost daily and were looking to stay somewhere for two ot three nights but in the end stayed for four!

Excellent place. Stacey and Jason are enthusiastic and extremely helpful. The price is right, the rooms are big clean and spacious and the location is excellent.

We were cooking dinner in our room one night, and the rotary club was meeting on the other side of the motel in the conference room. After the meeting Stacey brought some banana cream cake to our room, since there was left over food. It was excellent and it was really nice of them to even think about coming out to share the left overs.

I highly recommend this place. It was the best place we stayed in throughout our New Zealand trip.

We travel on a tight budget and are always looking for a good deal and Aloha didn't let us down. Positively one of the best hotels we have stayed in and the first impressions were wonderful. The staff (sorry didn't get her name) was efficient, polite and kind. Informative about the town and even gave us some free Feijoas! The room was excellent, clean, well set up and supplied. Would highgly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We spent one night here, and the room was quite spacious. After our Auckland experience of a kitchenette about 80cm by 45cm, this kitchen was unnecessarily huge. The full size fridge was appreciated as we froze bricks for our cooler each night. The QS bed was so soft my husband slept on the couch half the night. The pool looked inviting, and the service was good. We lost lighting from 11pm but not power.
