Very nice well appointed rooms right in heart of paihia township.

Convenient to shops & across road from jetty.

We booked room walking off street after last minute decision to stay in paihia and do bay of islands cruise.

Upon return from tour checked into room and found it was disabled access room. Requested to move as reception did not advise me of this when booking room. I was travelling with a toddler which made the shower facility unsuitable.

Was told no other room available, that no one has ever complained of room before. We should have been advised of disabled room upon booking at reception. No offer to compensate for issue & had to ask reception if I could request a full refund if I find alternate hotel.

Disappointed with how staff managed issue. Otherwise a great hotel.

Have just stayed 4 nights here in the old Paihia Sails part of the complex. Absolutely central location. We had a 3 bedroom apartment (No. 4) with a large balcony and fantastic views of the waterfront and over to Russell. Couldnt really fault this place, everything we needed was there; if anything the lift was a bit noisey, especially at night. Pricewise its up there (our stay was free) but I would definitely recommend staying here.

Stayed - 2 nights

Good - clean, modern, large 2 bed apartment, well stocked with kit. Good location in the centre of things.

Bad - cold on arrival, took ages to heat up. Not very friendly, knowledgeable or helpful check-in person.

Overall - average, could do better.
