“Best of the best in Paihia!”

What a perfect room we had for two nights! My husband and I enjoyed a breathtaking sunrise (that we specifically set an alarm for) and the room was just absolute perfection. Everything is thought of - There is a small kitchenette (with a fridge), a good sized bathroom, a big balcony with tables and a chair, complimentary wifi, individual room wall mounted heater, CD player with CDs for you to play, and small dining table. The views are spectacular and unforgettable. Thank you so so much Brita and Heinz for your warm hospitality and friendliness during our visit. They picked us up from the bus station which was very kind, gave us a tour of their property, and there is even a living room that you can enjoy during your stay. The location of the B&B is VERY close to town - probably about 5-7 minutes walking at most. The B&B views are amazing because it is located on top of a hill - so if you have trouble walking up or down steep hills you may want to give it some thought if you plan on visiting the town. There don't seem to be a plethora of cabs in the area!
One of the BEST stays we had during our trip to New Zealand and we only hope people are able to experience this perfection!! Cheers to Brita and Heinz!

Room Tip: Room that has a balcony, its own kitchenette, and top-most floor has a SPECTACULAR view!! I did not...

To Brita and Heinz - thank you for opening your wonderful piece of paradise to travellers to fabulous Paihia

Anyone who is even thinking of travelling to this part of NZ should consider staying here. Remarkable views and the very best hosts we have ever met. We opted for the full self contained unit. AMAZING. Spacious, everything supplied. You would want for nothing. All you need is your food and of course that bottle of champagne to share on the balcony overlooking the beautiful bay...feet up, relax and enjoy.

The B & B accommodation is exceptional with fantastic views and the lounge room is something else! Piano, books cumfy leather lounges and a telescope ! This accommodation is furnished with a great deal of taste including locally grown woods, leathers and fabulous art work and is a great credit to Brita and Heinz.

We stayed for 4 nights and we did not want to leave. We did not get a chance to have a long chat with Brita and Heinz, but we certainly will do that when we visit again. We cannot fault Allegra and absolutely concur with everyone else's comments on this site. It is the most exceptional private accommodation we have stayed in anywhere in the world.

Sylvia and Mark

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent. If you want to cook, choose the self contained unit.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our New Zealand trip. We booked the room with the roof top terrace and were really amazed by the view over the bay. This was really worth the money that we spent. Friendly owner, nice breakfast on the balcony and, yes again, just incredibly nice views from our terrace! Great place to stay!

We spent 4 nights at Allegra House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would most definitely recommend Allegra House as one of the best B&Bs that I have ever visited.

Brita and Heinz are the most friendly, welcoming, helpful hosts. They provided transport to/from the bus stop, booked tours for us and even drove us through to the starting point of a hike one day. They paid attention to all the small details and made every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

The continental breakfasts were delicious (fresh fruit, delicious bread and spreads, cheeses, yoghurt, cereal, etc. and even eggs if you wished). Brita also made "to go" trays of breakfast, stored in our room the nights before we were going to be up early for tours.

The views from Allegra House are amazing and you gain a full appreciation of the beauty of the Bay of Islands. While situated at the top of a rather steep hill, it's a relatively quick walk to/from the centre of town. Laundry facilities are available and the full apartment is equipt with everything one could need. All finishes are ultra modern and everything is exceptionally neat and clean.

Most definitely the highlight of my New Zealand holiday!

After a long journey it was good to arrive to a warm welcome. Not only were all the facilities in the top "suite" outstanding (see earlier reviews) but the catering and level of attention offered by Heinz and Brita was really excellent. Memorable breakfasts were accompanied by sound advice on things to do. We really enjoyed our three nights and would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arose.

Wish we had had more time to explore the amazing Bay of Islands! Allegra House is in the perfect location to sit back, relax and admire the bay after a busy day of sailing, snorkelling and hiking. Super comfortable, a bit luxurious and breakfast is delicious!

We stayed for 2 nights (not long enough this time) and it was a wonderfull experience. We had the top "suite",right at the top of the building with a sensational view (see the wine glass picture!). Wonderful big comfortable bed, large ensuite and simple kitchen space (no cooking facilities, but sink and tea and coffee making facilities). Heinz and Brita are engaging hosts, taking time to join their guests for the communal breakfast (sumptious and showing Heinz's swiss heritage, which is a great opportunity for meeting fellow travellers. Brita come up with a very good suggetion for our only full day in Bay of Islands and arranged tickets.

As everybody else has mentioned in these reviews, you will not be disappointed. We will be back as soon as we can.

Room Tip: Top suite is highly recommended
