We had a great couple of days, doing nothing but reading, sleeping, swimming and eating. The 5 pools and spas outside our door were perfect. On site health spa a luxury, restaurant was pleasant, rooms very convenient for us and our 16 month baby. Will stay again.

We took our group of 15 managers to Paihia for our end of year conference. The hotel itself was well appointed with modern facilities and immaculately presented as you would expect.

Planning was all done via the phone and email and I was pleased with the attention to detail to ensure our requirements were met in every respect. They don't have a conference room as such but we used a two bedroom suite, which has a large living area, that was more than suitable for our meeting.

The service from the minute our group arrived until we departed two days later was excellent. This includes the hotel staff on reception through to the attentive and couteous restaurant staff... and the food was also to an equally high standard at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Paihia itself is also a stunning place to visit. Great weather, stunning views and lots to do.

In conclusion I would recommend this venue to anyone for business or pleasure.

Two day stay and Spa treatments:
Rather disappointing...over-rated, over priced and understaffed. Apart from the wonderful water views, this property does not have the WOW factor to be graded a 5 star Resort. Recently renovated, the rooms are spacious and pleasant however, shower over bath, TV poorly positioned for watching from bed and furnishings were not luxury quality! Not even a pen/paper in the compendiums. The property is likely more realistically 4+star grade when compared with other 5 star hotels in NZ (and other international destinations).

No guest room Safe for passports, jewellery and money.
Main road runs between the hotel and waterfront so expect some traffic noise.
No House Bar or Guest Lounge. Seating for four people set up as the House Bar/waiting area and located at the entrance to the open kitchen of the smallish cafe.
Reception female staff were also luggage porters!
A 5-10 mins wait to Check Out whilst the receptionist took two newly Checked-In guests to their room. Where was the Duty Manager or other staff??

The things enjoyed...
Waking up to the sound of lapping waves when the traffic noise was absent.
Dinner at Pure Tastes was excellent - highly recommended. Breakfast food and service disappointing.
Spa treatments were enjoyable
Lap pool and five small jacuzzi's
Walking distance to boating activities/shops/Waitangi grounds
Getting away for a two day break with friends

We stayed for one night only and were rather disappointed. This hotel is definitely not the 5 stars it claims to be.
On arrival there was no one in reception and when eventually the girl did arrive she looked a bit flustered and apologized for leaving us waiting. We then saw the same receptionist taking guests luggage up to rooms. And when we phoned because of internet connection issues no one answered the phone the first time. When we finally got through the same girl said she would come up to our room to assist us. When we asked her she admitted to be the only one on. It seemed to us that she was stretched rather thin attending to everyones needs.
The understaffing gets worse as we had breakfast in the restaurant and found our waiter to also be the chef. He came out and took our order then went back and cooked it. Definitely not the 'resort' style accommodation we were looking for.
On the upside the rooms were nicely furnished and felt very homely. It was also a short walk into town, and far enough away to be private from the hustle and bustle in town.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband on a get away weekend. Room was nice, recently refurbished. Two complaints - king bed was actually two twin beds pushed together and the mattress wasn't very comfortable. Also, as previously stated, unable to view TV from bed. Small love seat and chair in sitting area with TV. We were on pool level which was nice - could walk out to our patio and then to pools and spas which were lovely
Close to town and reatuarants. Ate dinner one night at hotel - good but a bit overpriced. Breakfast was included in our rate - very good and filling. All wait staff in restaurant were great.
Had a massage with Linda - she was amazing!!! Book with her if you can
Overall, a good, clean and modern hotel for New Zealand. Would stay here again
