Feel like becoming Chief for a day? I did and recommend this traditional ceremony and entertainment by local Maori. Highly recommended

Beautiful setting and an impressive greeting.
The show was very well done and informative and the voices were lovely.
A great insight into Maori culture and performed in a traditional building.
Not to be missed!
Sandwiches at the café were delicious

Very informative museum which tells of the European settlers and the effect upon New Zealands Maori people. The guide was amazing, giving a non stop ,interesting description of the sacred buildings and history. unfortunately we were rush as we were late into the afternoon. Worth spending time to take in all the information. There is the area where the treaty was signed, and one can also see the canoes used by the Maori. Well worth the visit

We spent a couple of hours visiting the facilities. We joined a tour group and had a very interesting Maori guide tell us so many things about the Maori culture that was such a good introduction for us. A great stop for anyone visiting the area.

The museum on the grounds tell the story about British people and Maori people during early ages after the arrival of European settlers in Paihia. And, (of course!), the history of Waitangi Treaty.

The Maori performance was amazing, it is a must have!

Note: the performance could seem frightening for some very very young audience.
