“Informative and Fun”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

We had a great guide who was well informed and obviously had an enthusiasm for the subject as one of his ancestors signed the treaty.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept.

I thought the cultural experience was well worth doing, it was really well performed and very entertaining. I got to be "chief" of my group and it was a really cool experience. Volunteer for it!

$45 for entry to the grounds, a guided tour, and the cultural experience was well worth it.

Guide was knowledgable and provided interesting and detailed explanations throughout the tour. Watched the traditional Maori welcome ceremony which was excellent. Nice visitor centre and facilities.

“Excellent Cultural experience”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

I visited this last June 2013, and we were greeted by very friendly staff, enjoyed our guided tour and most of all the Maori welcome and ceremonial dances. Enthusiastic group of people who were more than willing to share their knowledge of and about their ancestors. An Absolute "must do" when in the area!!1

“Discover the birth of NZ as we know it”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

At Waitangi you discover the birth of New Zealand. You must walk the grounds to discver the Waka in the lower grounds and in the top ground the Marae is a must along with the treaty house. The grounds are imaculate. The views of The Bay of Islands are stagering. À must do is the Maori cultural show which is performed jn the Matae. Entry is free to New Zealanders.
