We had the pleasure of staying at the Falls Motel in one of the studio apartments with our 5 year old daughter. We have just come back today after a 5 night stay at the most wonderful family-friendly holiday resort. Andre and Olga are the perfect hosts - always able to advise on the best places to eat, or where to go, and they have just the right balance between friendliness/professionalism.

The setting is wonderful - we often sat outside the studio late into the moonlight, listening to the sound of the Falls into the Waitangi River. It's just so relaxing. There is plenty to do in the local and surrounding areas - touristy and non-touristy things - for all age groups.

We are looking forward to revisiting the Falls Motel in the Summer. We just didn't want to leave today :O(

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 3 - perfect for us.

We stayed at the Falls Motel last weekend as we joined our daughter who was celebrating her 30th birthday with a sky dive at Kerikeri. The rooms were good value, clean and comfortable. What has really impressed us however and motivated us to write a review and recommend this place was the ''after sales'' service. On Wednesday we received a call from Andre asking if we had lost an engagement ring as they had found one in the washing machine. The ring was a family heirloom and Cathy was devastated when she thought she had lost it during the preceding week ... it must have got caught up in some clothing that she then later washed at Haruru. Guys .... ''thank you so much for going the extra mile!!!!''

I stayed here during Waitangi Weekend. Paihia was very noisy and expensive, so drive 3km to Haruru Falls for a very warm welcome from Olga & Andre. The motel is on high ground and was not affected by the recent cyclone, but the campsite was flooded and now out of use. This is obviously a very popular motel and was fully booked. My room was good size, very clean and comfortable, with small kitchen area. The view of the Falls from my balcony was great. There is no food service at the motel, and the restaurant next door was flooded during the cyclone. A 10 minute walk brings you to the local convenience store and small take-away but they are not up to much. So drive back into Paihia for a good selection of shops and restaurants. Or you could order cook your own, or order a takeaway from town and relax on the balcony and listen to the falls. Andre is very helpful and wants you to enjoy your stay. If I should visit this area of New Zealand again, I would certainly stay here.

Our family stayed on the night of Cyclone Wilma January 29th 2011. The falls were just amazing in full flood as the evening & morning dawned , Our host Andre was very caring & concerned for his guests welfare particularly those in the camping ground . We would highly recommend this top spot to all who are travelling to the Bay of Islands.

We had a fantastic summer holiday with ten nights camping in our tent at this beautiful location. Excellent facilities. We were able to use the motel swimming pool and kayaks which was a definate highlight for our family. Andre and Olga were very friendly and obliging. This camping ground is an absolute credit to their hard work and dedication.
We would recommend this campground to anybody and everybody. Thanks heaps for the great memories.
