We also used a grabone coupon- so payed $60 per room. would have been extremly unhappy if I had payed full price. Rooms badly in need of a makeover. Woman on front desk was rude on the phone when we were booking rooms (refused to book us twin singles even though we were booking well in advance-apparently we would take what was avalible? She acted like we were very annoying for even asking. They also tried to charge friends in another room for breaking their 30 odd year old toliet through normal use. Restarant was yumo and the veiw of the waterfall was gorgeous. Would definatly recommend for camping.

Me and my partner stayed here for a couple of nights and enjoyed ourselves. We were camping and had a great spot right on the waterfront.

The kitchen was average, looked like it could do with a lick of paint but was clean and functional.

The bathroom also looked a bit old and grimy, and also wasn't very clean. It wasn't so dirty that I would complain, but just not up to standard.

The facilities are good, but felt as though it was more geared up for families with young children than couples. We would have been happy with our stay until we found the motel and campground next door was cheaper with better facilities and friendlier staff. All in all I only wouldn't recommend it as I know of better accommodation with the same views!

The view of the falls night and day was great. The staff went right out of their way to help in all ways. The restaurant awesome. Best memory of New Zealand.

Bought a voucher from GrabOne, and thought we'd try a new place for a change. We've been to Paihia several times and stayed in pretty nice places, so we thought we'd give this one a try. Rang twice and couldn't get hold of anyone to make a booking, so left messages, and no-one returned the call. Finally got hold of someone to book, was told the weekend we wanted was not available for the GrabOne allocation. Couldn't help but feel we were less important because we bought a voucher.

Staff were apathetic at best. Zero customer service. We got a room with 2 single beds; you'd think if they saw a couple they would try to change it to a double bed room.

The room was tired, the bathroom was worse. The vinyl floor is a relic from the 70's and felt and looked grotty. The single beds were pathetically soft.

We tried not to let the accommodation ruin our weekend, but it's hard to ignore that it has tainted our time out somewhat.

This awesome camp ground located at Haruru Falls Bay Of Islands called Haruru Falls Resort located right on the waters edge is one of the most fun destinations i have ever visited given the fact that i once lived in the Bay Of Islands (Paihia). I have been going up north now to this location almost every year for the past twenty something years and its never failed to entertain me. For starters the camp ground sports a rather large swimming pool to cool down in on those hot summer days which the kids just love and to top it off a restaurant and bar that provides great meals and a great social scene and you don't have to drive to get there which is a godsend. The host simply called Jan is wonderful and certainly knows her stuff when it comes to running the joint. The people who work there are also quiet knowledgeable when it comes to asking for information on day adventures etc. Most of the campers here are family people whom it doesn't take long to get to know due to that great social environment and that's what makes this place such a special place. if your a keen boatie then the boat ramp is right there. Whoever that lady was at the front counter, should be ashamed or fired.
Rude does not begin to cover her treatment of me and my friends. She was rude when we made a booking, and rude when we checked in. The showers are like pressureless dribbles, and the rooms didnt have a sink, so you had to use the bathroom taps (eww) to drink out of.
When we got up the next morning, my friend noticed the toilet was leaking, and running along the floor, I went and told the manager/ owner(?)
who went and had a look, to then accuse us of breaking it! -The toilet porsaline stem had a crack in it. and then tried to make us pay for it! when i had told her about five times that i wasnt paying for a toilet that we didnt break, she then asked whether we "fell" or "jumped"on it. i left very angry, and feeling like a criminal, only to get another phone call saying i had to pay $200-300 for it! Never again! If i hadnt stayed her using a coupon, i would have asked for a refund!
