We were offered a timeshare at the last minute...very surprised how spacious the two bedroom two bathroom apartment was...everything was so clean .
Would be a great place for families. Very steep driveway but good exercise.
Very close to the shops and beach. Really enjoyed our stay.

Second visit to Club Paihia saw us in a 1 bed unit (Feb2011 in 2 bed unit). The units have all the comforts of home with plenty of space. Unit placement and resort layout ensures enough privacy, with no complaints about inter-unit noise. The resort is really clean, well maintained & quiet, with constant unit refurbishment (typical of time-share resorts), & located on the side of a hill so may be a problem for anyone with mobility restrictions. (you can always drive from your unit to the main facilities if you want) If the Bay of Islands doesn't have enough attractions for you, the resort itself has excellent recreational & relaxation facilities (although we didn't have time to use them) for kids & adults alike. Good restaurants & attractions are a 2 min walk away, with the supermarket & takeaway liquor less than 5 min drive away. Take advantage of the in-house tour desk advisor, (great local knowledge & saves you queuing at the tourist info centre). Staff are great, where nothing was too much trouble. The only thing missing (which is not really a problem) is a view of the Bay, but this is an advantage as the resort is back from the main street so is wonderfully quiet at night. We would come again anytime.

Room Tip: Higher up the hill units are quieter

This is clearly the best timeshare resort we have stayed in. The 2 bedroom unit was amazing, with lots of space to relax. The facilities in the unit were of high standard, although the couches were uncomfortable for by bad back. The resort facilities were excellent - 3 pools, several spas, games room, gym, tennis (not that we were able to use them all). It is in a quiet location on a hillside, which gave us good exercise walking up to our unit from the town. It is within easy walking distance to the shops and town wharf.

This is a brilliant time share complex. We managed to stay in the refurbished 2 bedroom unit above the pool area. The units are modern, spacious and have all the comforts of home. The spa pool next door was hot and a great place to relax. The pools were spotlessly kept and at the right temperature for swimming etc. the resort gives you some good exercise as it is built on a hill side, very close to all amenities of Paihia, 5 minute walk to the waters edge and ferry to Russell. It was a relaxing week which went far too quickly! Always a good sign of a GREAT holiday!

It is off the main drag, which is quieter, and yet still right within walking distance of the town and shops and the visitor center and beach. They have a evening wine and snacks guest get together once a week, have a spa, sauna, and pool where lots of people seem to hang out. They have a huge outdoor chess/checkers board, laundry for each set of 4 condos, not a lot of parking space, and some of the condos are definitely not located for easy access so mobility impaired people will want to get the first level condos. The staff is helpful, friendly and informative. Our bed was horribly soft, but the sofa sleeper with wooden slats and cushions worked well. Nice sized bathroom and shower, kitchen was good for 2 people, we were in a one bedroom, but needed more plate ware.

We traded our timeshare for a week at Club Paihia in February, 2013, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Our top-floor one bedroom unit was spacious and wonderfully comfortable. While the unit did and surroundings not have a feeling of "luxury," the bed and linens were great, the kitchen was amazing, and the location was convenient for exploring the beautiful Bay of Islands. There was even an electric mattress pad for a few chilly evenings. Each unit has access to a jacuzzi, which was nice for an evening soak.

We walked to town most days and bought groceries at the small but well-stocked market on Williams road. We took the ferry to Russel for a wonderful dinner at the Duke of Marlborough--not to be missed. Go early, and sit on the terrace. We swam in the Club pools almost every day, before going out exploring. For the first three days, the weather was grey and rainy. Fortunately the weather cleared up and for the rest of the week we had glorious sunshine.

Our only complaint was the difficulty getting WIFI in our unit, though it was available in the lounge. We finally just used the free computer in the lobby to check our email daily.

I would return to club Paihia in a heartbeat.

We stayed for a few days in November while we were traveling on the North Island. The resort is well maintained, friendly staff and impressive amenities. We had requested a renovated unit ahead of time, but upon arrival were told we had an older studio unit. We’re not snobs by any means but were surprised to walk into the unit and not see a bed. Upon further inspection we realized it was hidden – a Murphy bed. Other than that one letdown, we were most impressed with the rest of the accommodations. The outdoor pool in particular was outstanding, with 2 small hotter pools and 2 larger pools. We went for a dip and were the only ones there!
The unit was clean and very serviceable with a kitchen, table, patio, living room and of course a bathroom. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the heater in the room definitely came in handy. As a cat lover, I was absolutely delighted to find a few friendly strays around the resort.

Room Tip: Free internet is available for a half hour if you use their computer in the reception area.
