Description: We have been one of Paihia’s most popular restaurants since 2006 serving the finest Thai cuisine under the name ‘THAI GARDEN CAFÉ’ now rebranded as ‘GREENS’. Keeping the same Thai chefs, we are proud to announce that we have introduced full Indian meal, which will be served by a new team of highly experienced Indian Chefs.Lovingly prepared, authentic Thai and Indian cuisine, with a few surprisingly Kiwi twists – that’s what we have on menu at GREEN’S. With a wonderful mix of Thai and Indian dishes, you will enjoy the fusion of spice and flavour. From traditional dishes like Pad-Thai to Indian Butter Masala Chicken and new fish dishes which are closely guarded, using the finest quality ingredients is the speciality at GREENS.At GREEN’S, the dining experience is as important as the food itself. Take a seat in our modern and stylish water-front restaurant, and enjoy great service from our waiting staff.Whether here for lunch, dinner or a private function, enjoy an atmosphere that combines the Indo-Thai warmth with the friendliness Paihia is famed for.

This is a great little restaurant. The menu is divided into Thai and Indian dishes so you can choose which cuisine you would like or you can mix it up. Inside and outside dining. The staff are very attentive and professional. This is another regular haunt when we are up in the Bay. Great food and value for money.

Looking at several reviews of Green's I have to wonder if we had been to the same restaurant.
This was to be a special evening for our party of six, a birthday celebration. We had decided on eating there due to its great seafront location, and the attractive sounding and very extensive menu, seemingly offering something for everyone; Thai and Indian suited us all.

The evening began well, with everyone finding several dishes to suit our varied palates. We ordered the special platter starter and this was duly delivered promptly and was really good. Drinks were fine and we were enjoying ourselves. However, we then waited, and waited and waited. Meanwhile, the kitchen, visible from our table, was working overtime, with many "takeaway" customers coming and going, but little food coming out into the restaurant itself. Opposite us, a party of two left without ever getting their food, and later another party of four left similarly frustrated. Despite several checks with our waiter, who assured us that our meals were "just coming", we waited well over an hour between courses. Then, food began to arrive. i.e. rice...one on an obviously dirty plate, not a good start. Several minutes later, main dishes started to arrive. However, after four of the six came to the table there was then another delay before the two specials came...and what a disappointment they were. Overall, the two snappers were good (although we strongly suspected they were undersize!), the supposedly medium spiced curry was the most bland imaginable, the Mango Chicken was "gloopy" and otherwise flavourless. However the worst had been saved for last - the seafood specials had undercooked prawn and squid worse than shoe leather. Cutting it with a knife was a challenge, eating it ..impossible. I asked our waiter to ask the chef to come and eat it in front of me as a dare - this was declined.

In the end we asked for the manager, who turned out to be our waiter! We shared the sadness of our experience and he offered to cook snapper for us as "it would only take a few minutes"...why then had the last one taken over an hour I asked?

In fairness, this place has great potential and I suppose we were so unlucky looking at other people's reviews..which is why I have offered such evidential detail. We parted on good terms, simply very disappointed, the bill was waived but our birthday celebration ruined. Glad others have found it better and I guess they were simply totally overwhelmed in the January tourist rush...but PLEASE employ more staff...or lose your reputation.

We were a group of 11 people last night for dinner and can't stop raving about the food and service. Have decided to go their today as well. Both Indian and Thai food were excellent, large portions and quick service.

A very good restaurant on the main seafront section of Paihia. Although originally just a Thai restaurant, following a rebrand it now offers both Thai and Indian food. Having sampled the excellent Thai menu we went back 2 nights later to try the Indian menu and it is just as good. The staff are very friendly and polite. The owner noticing we had returned for a 2nd visit made the effort to come over a talk to us and showed real interest in where we were from and where we were heading and more importantly thanked us for our custom. It's the little touches that count. Would recommend a visit if in the area

Excellent selection of both Indian & Thai food - the hardest part was deciding what to eat. Everything was amazing!
